Blurb: Ten years ago, lovers and best friends Ivo Toreli and Robert Mackenzie were separated by death.

But sometimes life gives you second chances. Life…and a lot of cybernetic enhancements.

Trust Agent 505 may not remember who he was before he worked security for Trust Insurance, but now his prisoner thinks he knows him. This revolutionary named “Mack,” who has stolen one of Trust’s prized possessions, seems to think Agent 505 is named “Ivo,” someone from his past. Someone he once loved more than anyone on any of the inhabited worlds.

Ivo doesn’t remember any of it, of course. But if he’s going to get Trust’s property back from the revolutionaries, he’s going to have to play along.

And if playing along also means sleeping with a handsome, humorous, and slightly dangerous ex-soldier, all the better, right?

Review:  I have never really been a fan of anything Sci-fi, but this was a pretty damn good book if I must say so.  I hadn’t even taken a look at the blurb, so I had no clue what type of book I picked so imagine my surprise when I started reading it.  It is definitely futuristic and unique, a definite new type of story for me.

Two young boys, orphaned at a young age find themselves together and bond in a way that many do not.  They grew up together, took care of each other and protected the other with fierceness.  Then they became lovers and decided to never be without the other.  Fighting for what they thought was right, Ivo was killed.  Ten years has gone past and Rob finds out that the man he loved, the man he watched die is in fact very much alive.

Ivo or Agent 505 had no memory of anything other then what he was.  Part man and part machine, but still human.  He has been killed many times but always brought back.  His reward is a drug that basically keeps him under the Trust’s hand.  That is until a man who knows him, shows him a different side of himself… one that he, well your just going to have to read the book.

A very fascinating story and I will now have to go back and read the first book in this series.  It is a very entertaining tale and caught my attention from the very start.  This is more than just a fight for the world, but for each other and the love they once had.  I fell in love with the characters and that dog just made a hit with me.

I can see myself reading this book more than once, way to go!  I would definitely recommend this book.

Review: At first I was not too sure if I wanted to read this story.  I am not a fan of anything historical and the cover is a bit off.  However I do love a good paranormal especially when the characters are two sexy men.  This is the first book by this author I have read and I must say she does have a talent.

Wryler is a young lad who loves a good book.  He has no real standing in his family but that all changes when he is traded off to marry Lord Aeric.  This story is a bit like a prince and princess book with a monster vibe to it; a fairy tale of beauty and the beast, with Aeric being the beast. Aeric is in fact human and gryffon.  And Wryler’s family has just basically sold him to this man.  Talk about a rush.  Wryler is in fact part fae, so he does have some magic of his own.  But that fear he had at first soon turns to love.

Aeric does look a lot like a pirate rather than a barbarian but he is in fact gentle and very caring.  He just didn’t let Wryler know that it wasn’t a curse but a blessing to be able to turn into the gryffon.  Might have come back to bite him in the ass at some point, but hey read the story.

I will also admit that the beginning of the book was a bit dull for me, so I skidded through it as fast as I could.  I actually liked the rest of the story a bit more than the beginning.  Although I still don’t like the historical part of it, which might have been the reason I didn’t like the story as much as I should have.

The heat between the two men was off the charts.  I actually found that I did like Wryler quite a bit more than the others.  That might come from the fact that he was a geek when it came to books.  It is a fun little story that you might like though I can’t see myself reading it more than once.  It does have a humor to it that makes it pretty good and if your into historical, paranormal and fantasy type stories with humor and a bit of danger, then this will be for you.

Blurb: The zombie apocalypse left twelve people trapped, but safe, at a scientific research base on an Arctic island. Three years later, with supplies critically low, they know they can’t survive another harsh winter. But all of them fear what awaits them on the mainland.

Former grad student, Matt Warner, has retrained as a nurse under the group’s doctor, Peter Lane. Training is not the only thing Matt wants to be under Peter for, but Peter has always resisted responding to Matt’s interest in him. Before all this started Peter had a husband, Harrison, back home. A husband he desperately hopes is still alive.

Despair finally weakens Peter’s resolve and he and Matt begin sharing a bed. It’s Matt’s dream come true, even if he knows Peter’s feelings for him aren’t as strong as his for Peter. But everything changes, when the group learns of the existence of a vaccine against the zombie virus and they escape the island to search for the people distributing the vaccine. Matt fears their relationship won’t survive, because Peter wants to search for his husband—even if only to confirm his death. And Peter knows if he goes looking for Harrison, he’ll lose Matt forever.

Review: Ok I am done laughing now; I really should pay attention to more than just the title or the hot men on a cover when I choose a book.  However this was one of the good choices.  I have never been a fan of horror books or even movies, but for some strange reason I love to read or watch anything with zombies.

I would have never thought during the zombie apocalypse to head to the Arctic’s but then again these guys were there when the whole thing went down.  Twelve people surviving and learning to live with one another.  However you can only eat caribou and eggs for so long.  Peter has been married for some time but three years they have not seen one another.  He has no idea if Harrison is even alive.  He kept pure for that bond, but damn if Matt is not getting to him.

Matt is a former grad student and is being trained by Peter to be a nurse.  He also has the hots for Peter, but the man doesn’t return his feelings.  Then the zombie’s start showing up on their island and Peter realizes that he does have feelings for Matt.  However he still needs to know if Harrison is alive or dead, he has to make choices.

I love the little twist to this story, although I have to say I kind of knew the outcome for both of my questions before I got to it in the story.  It was a fairly easy step to take.  I normally don’t like to read books by author’s that I have not heard of or read, but damn if this author is not going to be a favorite of mine.  I can’t wait to see what other stories she has out.  Danger, zombies, freezing temp’s, fear and hot sex is just a bit of what you get in this story.  Let’s just say that it rocked and I hope to see more stories like this one from this author.  Way to go!

Reviewer: Lisa

Review: Maltese Terror and Rescued by Love were previously released by another publisher. A New Leash on Life is a new story.  Now I will admit that when I picked this story I did not know it was three short stories instead of one.

The Maltese Terror

Landscape architect Nick LeGrande has never experienced a more disastrous trip! When he ends up stranded in a Colorado blizzard, he’s glad to have the company of his little canine buddy, Cedric, which circumstances forced him to bring along. Then a sexy Samaritan rescues them and Nick is introduced to a world he hardly knew existed…and is quickly enthralled.

Caleb Storm is a loner, a rancher whose Native American blood sets him a bit apart from most of his fellows. When a spring blizzard dumps Nick LeGrande and his tiny dog into Caleb’s life, he and his old stock dog Cheyenne hardly know what to make of their visitors. Caleb finds Nick very attractive but doubts such a successful and urbane man could have any interest in him. Their dogs, however, hit it off from the start and seem to conspire to get their masters together. Can a pair of canine cupids work the necessary magic?

Since these were previously published I decided instead of giving you a description of the story I would just give you the blurb for it.  It is a very cute little story, but the romance was to fast moving.  I don’t know of anyone that would move this fast, so with the story it just made it not believable.  However it was really adorable and I absolutely loved the dogs.  I would love to see this short story turned into a longer book.

A New Leash on Life

Justin went from having a nice life in Phoenix, to being unemployed and pretty much homeless.  He still had his mother’s house but moving there was not the question, the question was, was his old flame still there.

Barry noticed Justin was back and so were his feelings.  Then he got even a bigger shock and now things were going to be what he wanted.  Things are going to heat up.

Now for this one, there was no blurb for this and I tried not to give anything away.  It is a cute but frustrating story.  I wasn’t too sure if I liked the characters or not.  It was too short to get anything more than a taste for it.  I do hope for a longer story that gives you more than just a tease.

Rescued By Love

With his life torn apart by tragedy, Garrett finds a true life-saver in the Golden Retriever pup Mandy that he rescues from a local shelter. Inspired by search-and-rescue heroics he sees on television, he and Mandy become a trained SAR team. Their first big challenge comes when a series of violent storms with vicious tornadoes rip through the high plains.

Dan has returned home from Iraq, shattered by the horrors he witnessed. Like his father and grandfather before him, he takes off on an old motorcycle to try to find peace and outrun his nightmares. Instead, he finds a storm that threatens to take his life.

But a special SAR team comes to Dan’s rescue. And in Mandy and Garrett, Dan finds the unconditional love he desperately needs to become whole again

Now the first thing I am going to say is it needed better editing before publishing.   When I started reading this it was a very sweet story with a bit of pain in it.  I enjoyed the guys a bit more and the dog rocked.

Overall

The stories were pretty good but to damn short to get anything more than a taste.  I will admit that if I had paid attention I would have probably skipped reading it.  I am not a fan of short stories and anthologies.  I want a story with more details and juicy bits then they usually give.  Other than my issues it is a pretty good book that I did enjoy.

And in the weeks leading up to their interview, the former soldier becomes a recurring player in Aaron’s fantasies.

Review: I really enjoyed the interactions between Wyler and Aeric. Wyler is basically given to Aeric in marriage at what Wryler thought would be his engagement announcement to another man. Aeric has a bad reputation among others due to his living on the edge of the forest and tales of vicious creatures.

We are lead into a mystery of who exactly Aeric is and what happened to others that have disappeared. Aeric was an amazing creature that I loved reading about but was missing crucial details. Along with supernatural creatures in abundance there is also Wryler’s unhappiness at being pawned off by his father.

I really wanted to love this story but there were many details that I wanted to know that were missing. For instance what exactly happened to Aeric when Rumple had him? During the interesting parts the story seemed rushed to me.

All in all it was a good read but could have been so much better.

Review: This book is a combination of three different stories involving Nick and John. It tells of their meeting and how they fell in love. It also talks about the gift of seeing spirits and helping them go on their way.

You will also get to see Josh and find out a bit about him.

I wasn’t sure about it at first, but my attention was caught. It has a serious tone to it but there is some humor to it that makes it a better read for me.

6520256Laying a Ghost ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts

When John McIntyre sees Nick Kelley step off the island ferry, he’s instantly attracted, and fairly certain that he knows what Nick is keeping secret, because he’s been doing it himself for years. When he discovers Nick’s real secret he’s drawn into a world he never knew existed, one haunted by grief and guilt and ghosts. In the shadowed world of the spirits, Nick’s power is all that the ghosts have to help them. But Nick is still mourning the death of his lover in an accident he believes he caused, and John’s determined to keep their relationship secret.

It’s going to take a lot more than attraction and really good sex to solve their problems but will they be lucky? Or will one week be all they have before they’re left alone again?

John has always hidden what he truly was from his family. They lived in a small town that was not as progressive as they should be. Only his best friends new that he was gay. So things changed when Nick shows up.

Nick came to Scotland after his family passed. His uncle, who he had never met, left his mother the home in Scotland. After his partner’s death, he had to get away. You see he has one big secret, he sees ghosts.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading this. The title is a bit strange so I was a bit leery of taking it on. However once I started I couldn’t put the story down. It was fascinating and a bit freaky. Poor Nick not only sees them but hears them, so he must help them to go forward. This story was fun to read and I can’t wait to get started on the next book. However I must say that I would love to smack the shit out of his mother.

6520312Giving Up the Ghost ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts

Most of the people in Florida are soaking up the sun. Nick and John are dealing with a plane crash, a gold-digger, a reporter with an eye on more than a good story, and some startling revelations about Nick’s family.

And that’s before the ghosts from the crash get angry with Nick, the one person who can hear them.

They’re struggling with their relationship when the trip begins — sex works, sex works well; it’s the other stuff that’s a problem. Getting away seemed like a good way to work things out. But this is one getaway that might leave John and Nick wishing they’d stayed at home.

Or it might be just what they needed to find out that home is where the heart is.

I do have to say that the titles are just bizarre but the stories are pretty cool. In this one John feels Nick is bored, but the truth is something else is going on. Nick has been having dreams and can’t figure them out. That is until he gets a phone call about a father he hadn’t seen in many years.

They end up in Florida dealing with his father’s crazy ass girlfriend, who is nothing more than a gold digging hussy. Also a reporter who recognizes him and many ghost. Then he finds out that he has a little brother. It would seem his little brother has a gift of his own, but it isn’t seeing ghosts.

This one was just as much fun as the first one, although these two really need to work on their communication. I almost gave up on John in the beginning but he redeemed himself really fast. I had a lot of fun with this and can’t wait to get started on the next story.

6520355Walking the Dead ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts

When your lover can speak to ghosts and his half-brother can read minds, you get used to life being a step away from normal. But when angry ghosts take over the bodies of the living, seeking revenge for their centuries-old murders, even John and Nick have trouble coping.

Teenaged angst, pushy tourists, and the dead walking… If they want the peaceful summer they’d planned, they’re going to have to fight for it.

Side by side.

Nick’s brother Josh is now nineteen and coming for a visit. John’s niece is having difficulties with her mother and invites Josh to a camp fire down by the ocean. Ghost stories are told. There are rumors of two men being killed in the caves. So they decide to see what the cave looks like. But two teenagers inadvertently free their spirits. The men were angry at being killed. They say they were innocent but plan revenge.

Even John and Nick are having trouble trying to help these two men find peace. On the flip side the guys are doing amazing together and their love is stronger than ever. Dealing with mean spirits and two teenagers is just about as fun as the day is young.

I loved this story and can’t wait to see what else this amazing author has out. I think if I had Nick and Josh’s gifts I would go nuts. Although Josh’s does sound a bit more fun.

Overall

This was one amazing book. I wasn’t sure if I would like it because of the ghost but it was told with such a flare that I enjoyed the whole thing. It has a lot of different feelings going on that my attention definitely didn’t waiver a bit from this book. I even gave up dinner to finish it, it was that entertaining.

I would definitely recommend this book.

Review: This book is part of a series and must be read in order.

We first met Hunter and Alex (was Shawn) in Hitting Black Ice and now we re-join them in  another action packed adventure when all they are trying to do is enjoy a holiday. Even though the guys thought the past was behind them it becomes apparent that not everything was tied off neatly when a surprising twist is revealed. Hunter handles the news badly and after Alex has a brush with a couple of dangerous bar customers they really need a holiday.

Their holiday gets off to a great start, relaxing and just being together while Alex catches up with childhood friends, but a couple of their new friends are acting suspiciously. The truth comes out and with a hurricane bearing down on them trouble heads their way, and Hunter and Alex take it into their own hands to protect their friends from the jewel thief who wants his boyfriend and his jewels back… and the Russian mobster who is determined to get his wife’s jewels back at any cost.

This is a fantastic story that has action and danger raining down on Hunter and Alex, try as they might they just can’t avoid it but they face the danger head on. Their relationship grows stronger and their love deeper as they face the trials that life throws them, it’s a bit of a bumpy ride but they come out stronger the other side with more hope for a future.

Heloise West has written a story that you are never quite sure what will happen next, it surprises at turns and has you eagerly turning pages as Hunter and Alex’s adventures unfold… and yes it is an adventure because that’s the only way that I could describe their life together. I loved reading this book and losing myself in the story, it held my attention from the first page and while the ending is great I was still sad to have come to the end of the story.

I recommend this to those readers who love everyday guys stumbling across danger, who love a couple whose relationship grows at every turn, who love twists and surprises and the bad guys getting what’s coming to them and an ending that makes you smile.

Ian is kidnapped by the mysterious—and devastatingly gorgeous—Huojin, a dragon in the middle of a celestial war that Ian is officially a pawn of. All Ian wants to do is get back to his tabletops but with dog-demons and flying hands lined up to destroy him, his best bet is with melts-in-your-mouth-not-in-your-hands Huojin.

Huojin wants nothing to do with the human who seems to have tapped into the Yellow Dragon’s power. The human makes Huojin burn with thoughts he has no right to have—not with the blood on his hands.

Ian will have to brave the kind of danger that could leave someone at the bottom of a river in order to get his life back to normal. But after spending time with the troubled Huojin, he might just find that there are some pleasures worth the bruises.

Review: I didn’t understand what the title of this book had to with the story. It seemed like maybe the author did it as a way of catching people’s attention to read the story. It threw me off as I started reading and was waiting for the connection but there was none. Aside from that the story itself was entertaining.

Ian is excited when a game he developed gets picked up by a company. Afterwards he is kidnapped and when he comes to he meets Houjin. I found it humorous that Houjin wants nothing to do with Ian even though he feels things for the man.

These two were cute as Ian wants the handsome Houjin but Houjin holds him at arm’s length. It was an interesting read as the author draws you into Houjin world and we see the circumstances of why he is troubled. I liked the way that even though Ian wants to go home he also wants to help Houjin.

Good read.

Review: This is the second book in Dark Space.

I have to say I loved the entire book. It was great to see how Brady works through things throughout. Then Cam and Brady’s connection is restored only to discover it’s not quite right.

It was mind-boggling how well and deep this story takes the reader into understanding how the mind works in regards to relationships, tense situations, etc. I was impressed by how well the story flowed smoothly and the details throughout.

Intense, yet powerful. This book packs quite a punch. It keeps you reading until the very end.

The only thing I found I did not like was the cliffhanger at the end, as I have not heard anything about a third book. I certainly hope there will be though, if not for anything else to answer questions that were unanswered.
