Rhys’s employment at Toby’s garden centre is temporary, just to cover the Christmas sales, and frankly he’d much rather be outside gardening. And avoiding Christmas.

Review: This is a nice and quick holiday read. Yes, I read this in May, but for me I love reading a Christmas themed romance all year round. I love the sweetness and the hope that these types of stories normally bring.

For Want of a Christmas Miracle is no different. It follows Rhys, a landscape gardener who finds himself out of a job close to Christmas,  and Toby, Rhys’s new boss at the garden centre. Rhys brings in the “bah-humbug” element into the story and Toby brings the hope.

It is seriously cute and sweet and these characters just work well together.

Christmas Kitsch by Amy Lane ~ Audiobook

Blurb: Sometimes the best thing you can get for Christmas is knowing what you really want.

Rusty Baker is a blond, rich, entitled football player in a high school full of them – just the type of oblivious jock all the bullied kids hate. And he might have stayed that way except he develops a friendship with out-and-proud Oliver Campbell from the wrong side of the tracks. Rusty thinks the friendship is just pity – Oliver is very bright, and Rusty is very not – but then Oliver kisses him good-bye when Rusty leaves for college, and Rusty is forced to rethink everything he knows about himself.

But even Rusty’s newfound awareness can’t help him survive a semester at Berkeley. He returns home for Thanksgiving break clinging to the one thing he knows to be true: Oliver Campbell is the best thing that’s ever happened to him.

Rusty’s parents disagree, and Rusty finds himself homeless for the holidays. Oliver may not have much money, but he’s got something Rusty has never known: true family.

With their help and Oliver’s love, Rusty comes to realize that he may have failed college, but he’ll pass real life with flying rainbow colors.

Review: I had not had the chance to read this story so when I was given the audible I wasn’t sure what to expect from it. I have never really been into teenagers finding love so it was a bit different to me. However I realized that Christmas Kitsch is probably one of my favorite love stories from this side. I also never realized how much I want to just knock some sense into Rusty’s parents.

Nick brought these boys and their families alive for me and I was fascinated by it. He gave them each a distinctive tone that you can tell who each character is and I loved it. It made me want to listen to it more than just once and that was a big hit for me. It was told with a flair that had me wanting more. He made Rusty’s voice perfect. You can feel everything Rusty is feeling while telling his story.

Rusty is a sweet kid who wasn’t like many other rich kids you come across. He might be spoiled in some ways but it didn’t change him into one of those types. He definitely has a lot of heart but he doesn’t really come off as brainless as he thinks. He might just be a bit slow picking up some things. When Oliver starts school he takes him under his wing and helps him. As Oliver is helping him with his school work.

When he realizes that there is more than just friendship he is about shocked. Here he was sleeping with girls and he is attracted to Oliver. One kiss right before Thanksgivings gets him kicked out of his home. Oliver’s family takes him in and shows him how a family should be.

Oliver is a cute little Hispanic boy who is very out and proud. He shows up at school and takes one look at Rusty. These two hit it off, even when the homophobic asshats around them are well asses. These two start a friendship that is strong and turns into something more. Rusty’s only support from his family is his little sister, whereas Oliver’s family is very warm and friendly. I love how you can see the difference and wish that it was more out in the world. Nick definitely did a number with this story. He made me fall in love even more.

I think my favorite moment for this story was their first kiss. So sweet and tender, Rusty is confused but turned on. He doesn’t react like one would think from a guy who didn’t know he liked other guys. He is definitely Oliver’s. The second would be how Oliver and his father were going to come down and kidnap Rusty when Rusty wasn’t doing well at school. It showed me another side to a parent who stands by their family.

I want Oliver’s’ family that is for sure. The story was perfectly pitched although I wish it was told a bit faster for me. I want to get to the sexy parts, so that was just me. It had the right amount of feelings in it that made it more entertaining. The story itself was perfect and there was so much detail that it had me feeling like I was right there with them. Although I did look a bit strange with my pissed off look about Rusty’s parents.

This was the perfect Christmas story and I look forward to not only reading more by this author but listening to her stories.

I would definitely recommend this book to others. It was a hit with me.

Review: Each book in the Sweet Snacks collection features a different romantic couple. They can however be read as a standalone.

Pitney is a shy young man who self-esteem is very low. His one relationship, which wasn’t a real relationship, left him a bit scared. So when Rafe saves him from his ex he is blown away. He had been staring at this gorgeous man since he started coming to the restaurant. Not only that but it looks like Rafe is way interested in him. So things are about to heat up.

This is the first story by Liza that I have read and I have to tell you that I will be reading more of her stories. There is just something about them that calls to you and has you spell bound. Each man has issues it seems with their sexuality but together they are determined to be together.

This is a short and very sweet little love story that I had a lot of fun reading. I would love to hear more about them in the future. The story line was perfect and the characters were well written and fully developed.

This was a blast and I would definitely recommend it.

Review: Sara York has always managed to give me a story that will not only captures my attention but keeps my attention all the way to the end. Sometimes you come across a story that pulls at your heart strings and this is one of those stories. You can also tell when an author puts their entire heart into their stories. This story was well written, had a lot of heat to it, and is just beautiful.

Adam and Drake are deeply in love but they lead such busy lives. Adam is a baker who loves to do things for others. Sometimes he commits without thinking of how much time it would take away from the man he loves. However when Drake brings in two boys, he was about to make the biggest commitment ever.

Drake had found Boyd and Ben trying to get into cars. He could tell that they were homeless, but when he hears their story he knows he has the perfect home for them. There are some minor problems but things are looking up for them all. That is until Ben’s father shows up and wants them returned.

This was an amazing story that was very heartwarming. Adam and Drake’s hearts are so big, that they show two boys the love that they need and deserve. They opened their home and have made a real family.

Every once in a while you come across a story that will touch you in more ways than one. They pull you in and have you wanting to stand with them. The characters were well written, fully developed and had hearts of gold. This story has a serious tone to it, but you can see the humor in spots which made it even better.

I loved this book and look forward to reading more by Sara York.

Review: This is book two in this series however they can be read as a standalone. It was previously published in another series. Cherie has a way of telling a story that draws you in and keeps you there.

Sam and Patric have a history together. The one time they slept together Patric had run afterwards. Now he was back after an injury he received in the service. He was hired to take Sam hiking, but he wanted to forget their time together. Sam was determined to make him remember the good parts and to show him that they could be good together once more.

It was a cute and very sweet little story that will have you smiling. There really isn’t any real drama coming from them or danger, but you can tell they have some issues that need to be worked through. It doesn’t hurt that the sex between them is very hot and sensual.

I did have fun reading it but it wasn’t really for me.

Blurb: Rein Dear is a prestigious title, accompanied by admiration, devotion, and celebrity status, all of which one saucy Vixen thrives on. Alas, Vixen’s only concerned with having fun, unlike his stuffy and sensible best friend, Rudy Rein Dear, who Vixen has always been jealous of. Aside from being chosen by Mayor Kringle to be Captain the Rein Dear Squadron, Rudy’s managed to snag himself a prince, even if that prince is the dangerous and imposing Jack Frost.

All’s not lost for Vixen though. He discovers Jack’s cousin Vale has a soft spot for him. Vale Frost might not be a dashing prince, but he’s the next best thing: a decorated Lieutenant for the Toy Soldier Army, and a member of the Frost monarchy.

Determined to get what Vixen feels he deserves, he sets off on a mission to ensnare the kind-hearted lieutenant. But Vixen’s selfish ways are sure to lead to disaster, and it’ll take more than a little courage to set things right.

Review: Vixen revels in the recognition and admiration he receives as one of the Rein Dear. But what Vixen really longs for is a Prince, and everything that comes with being on the arm of one. Vale Frost is certainly fits the bill, and he adores Vixen to boot. The more time the two spend together, Vixen starts to realize that he wants something far more precious from Vale, he wants his love.

When Vixen unknowingly tells a secret Vale entrusted him with to the wrong person, Vale is crestfallen and sends Vixen away. By now though, Vixen has fallen in love with his tall, dark and handsome Toy Soldier and he won’t walk away that easily, even if it kills him.

I so enjoyed watching Vixen go from a slightly spoiled brat, anxious to sink his claws into Vale for the recognition and fame it will bring him… to a strong and confident young man, that was willing to sacrifice himself if it meant Vale would just look at him with love in his eyes one more time. So much personal growth for him in so few pages.

Vale is literally Prince Charming with his magical wind song that lures Vixen to him. Both men became stronger and more confident just being with each other.

Robert Nieman is sticking with the narrating and I hope that holds as more books come out. What was most notable for me in this book was how both men continually evolved and grew in the story, and how Nieman captured that in the way he voiced them. The tones and inflections early on were shy and even a bit scared. Then as the story progressed and especially at the end, the tones and inflections grew stronger and more assured.

My favorite of the series so far, though I’ve really enjoyed them all. A winter wonderland fantasy theme with some strife and a whole lot of romance to keep these elves, soldiers and princes nice and toasty warm.

Review: I haven’t read any books by Jess Buffett until I came across this story and I was surprised by it. It is the second publishing of this story, first published in 2013. Although it really doesn’t come off as a Christmas story to me. I loved the title and the cover of the story which is what drew me to it. The blurb was pretty cute and I wanted to get my hands on it.

The story itself was way to short and the potential it had was not fully found. There were a few points that were missed that the author should have added to it but other than that it was a cute story. Jaxon has returned home to train for taking over the pack. However he finds a bit of trouble there. He has found his mate, and his mate was in danger from his father.

It is a cute little story, but it wasn’t thought all the way through. I really did enjoy the story and can’t wait to read the next book. I do hope that the next story has better editing though. It has great potential to be a great read. It just needs a little more to it. Although you get a little bonus with it, the problem was the bonus is another story not fully thought out. I liked it but was still a bit disappointed in it.

I would recommend it though, because the guys are hot and the paranormal part is a hit with me.

Review: I have always loved a good paranormal love story between two men, but when one of them can become pregnant I am hooked. It is one of my top favorite kinks in stories. Now I must admit that when two paranormals get together it is a given that they know, but for a human to except it so easy as this one showed it is a little bit strange.

Cole loved Brody even after Brody ended their relationship. Now he was going to end up spending his Christmas alone, because flights were being cancelled. He had not expected Brody to be at the airport. Although he should have considering Brody was a pilot.

Brody left Cole because his bear wanted to mate with him. To mate with him, meant that Cole would become pregnant. However it would seem that he wants Cole just as much as his bear.

It is a fun story that is very steamy. I loved the whole Christmas way about it. To me it makes Christmas more magical when you are with the one you love. I wished that it would have given us a bit more though. I want to know all about the pregnancy and what the sex of the baby was. It would have been the best ending to the story.

I had so much fun with this and would definitely like to see more by this author.

Alexei knows his gift this year is going to blow Mike’s mind, but in the meantime, it’s pretty hilarious watching Mike try to figure out what it is. Granted, Alexei does have a lot of surprises in store for Mike this week, and it sure as hell isn’t frankincense and myrrh.

Review: Short, Sexy and Steamy! Why yes, that is my three favorite colors!!

Let me preface this review by saying, if you haven’t read the first book, Crashing The Net, then you must or you’ll be a bit lost.
With the team on break for the Holidays, Mike and Alexei are happy to have some time off and hoping they’ve done good with their gifts for each other. When dinner with Alexei’s ex, Erik, turns into a kind-a sort-a threesome, Alexei’s first gift for Mike is definitely a HUGE success. Little does Mike know, Erik was just an appetizer, there is so much more to come.

I really enjoyed seeing where these two guys were at in both their professional and personal lives four years later. Their relationship has only grown stronger, their love for each other solidified even though there are still only a choice few that know they are lovers.

Actually, they are partners, in every sense of the word, and this book really drove that aspect home. Alexei may be the dominate in the bedroom but in every other way he considers his Michael his equal and it was fun to watch how that played into the story.

There are a few other surprises in the book that I can’t go into detail about, you will have to grab a copy and see for yourself. Just because there is a Christmas theme to the story does not make it a Christmas story by any means.

It was just a fast, fun, sexy as hell read that I blew through in an hour. If you are like me and think the best things in life are sweaty, naked men and hockey, then you simply must read this book!

Review: Stranded in a blizzard at his best friend’s cabin, Chris is settling in for another lonely Christmas. That is until a neighbor stops by to make sure Chris is okay and gets stuck when his snowmobile won’t crank.

Alone by the fire, bundled up to keep warm, one thing leads to another and before long, Chris and Horace no longer need the fire to keep warm. While Chris tries to tell himself he shouldn’t get involved, it’s hard when Horace has made up his mind that Chris is what he wants. Chris is determined to go home at the end of his supposed two-week stay. But what, exactly, is he going home to?

I really like the easy, laid back, husky tone of Kelly’s voice. It was the perfect melody to tell this story, especially for the character of Horace with his Minnesota accent, which Kelly conveyed quite well.

This was a short sort of sweet, sort of moody story, a bit of a May/December romance with Chris being several years Horace’s senior. There was some steam of course, and not just from the hearth.

I think I knew Horace was a goner when they decorated the tree, but Grey keeps you hanging until the very end to know whether or not Chris wants to stay stranded in nowhere with his gentle giant.

Review: I LOVED this story.

Okay, confession time. I have a serious thing for Christmas sappiness. This basically means that I spend the month of December trolling the internet, Lifetime Network and the Hallmark Channel for sweet romance.

I could not have loved Justin and Sean more, if I’d created them myself. I also have a thing for friends to lovers romance, so these two hit all my buttons. Not too mushy,  a few tiny misunderstandings, a couple of interfering family members and you have the perfect sweetly sexy holiday novella.

Not to mention that Jay Northcote is a wonderful writer.  Meaning that despite the sap factor, What Happens at Christmas is beautifully written. The plot is plausible and has a very nice flow. The dialogue is brilliant and oh, so British. If you are not familiar with Jay’s writing, this would be a perfect introduction.

Highly recommend.

Review: Alex and Rafe are back!!! Quite possibly Felice’s sweetest couple EVER (and that’s saying a lot), I was SO excited to catch up with them. If you haven’t read One Step Further or Memories of the Heart, you must, must, must!!! SO GOOD! The Greatest Gift picks up five years after their HEA begins; Alex and Rafe are hitting some bumps in their stride. While the two sweethearts are still very much in love, like real couples, they have issues.

Returning to help tell the story are favorites Micah and Josh (who have expanded their family), as well as their grandmothers and Alex’s mom. We are also introduced to Jude and Dylan, who in many ways are the center of this beautiful Chanukah tale of love and family lost and found.

Though a novella, it is not fluff! This is a fully fleshed out story, and this is Felice; you don’t get the HEA without working for it. There is sadness, but it is well outweighed by joy and love. You get the strong family bond… the camaraderie, the loving moments… the Alex and Rafe sexy times (hot, hot, hot) and then… the FEELS!!!! As always, amazing… The sweetness. The sadness. The overwhelming happiness. I’m not usually a “book crier” but HAPPY TEARS! I cried HAPPY TEARS!

So well written, this story flowed from beginning to end. I fell in love with Alex and Rafe all over again. This is hands down my favorite Felice Stevens read – Whether you love Alex and Rafe, want a heartwarming Chanukah story or just plain love Felice Stevens and her sweet sexy guys, you need to read this. I feel like The Greatest Gift was this author’s gift to her readers. I totally spun the dreidel and won – BEST. CHANUKAH. GIFT. EVER!!!!

Review: Carson has moved across the country to Chicago right after Thanksgiving for a new job. He hasn’t had a chance to make new friends. His mom was worried about him being alone and not getting Christmas dinner, so Carson assured her he had a friend coming over and was making a turkey. Then she insist  on seeing photos, so Carson is forced into making a turkey. He has never cooked much and has no clue. So he calls the Turkey Hotline for help. When Carson’s problems get more serious, Tom comes to the rescue in more ways than one.

I fell in love with this story from the first line. Carson was so adorable trying to pull this off, and Tom was funny helping him. I laughed so hard I thought I would cry. Some of the stuff was so hysterical that I even read it out-loud out my hubby, and he laughed along with me.

If you’re looking for a good laugh, a fabulous holiday story and a fun romance you can’t pass this one up!

Review: Noels living in the human realm on sabbatical from his job as a distributor at the North Pole. He didn’t only leave to get a break from all the Holiday traditions but mostly from an Ice sprite he has a crush on that teases him.

When Fannar starts showing up frequently sent by his mom on a mission to help locate Santa old feelings resurface and Noel pushes Fannar farther and farther away. But can he ignore his feelings if there is Christmas magic involved?

This is a cute, grownup take on Christmas magic, the Christmas realm and love in general. I liked the world set up by Kate and wish we got more of a look inside that realm. I did like both Noel and Fannar and also Noel’s friend Ruby a Cupid. The plot is fun, fast –paced with a touch of humor and a lot of charm.

If you are looking for a Holiday story with a touch of magic, myth and fantasy and a sweet romance this is for you.

Review: Ron has always been taunted by his parent about his size. He has had ex boyfriends that have done the same then he found the Bar club and his life changed until Paddy showed up. No-one there knows his secret about Paddy. Ron is thrilled when he gets president but less thrilled to find out Paddy is his vice president. Paddy keeps finding more and more reasons for them to spend time together working for the club. Is Paddy taunting him or does Paddy have a secret of his own?

I really liked this story a lot. I loved that the characters are not perfect model type men. I also like how the sound and act like real men. I could see this group of huge men all together growling, drinking, laughing, and the painting was cute too.

I could really relate to Ron. I too have weight issues that go to my childhood. I also love big Beary men. There was so many fun characters here as well like Billy. Who couldn’t like a big bear cross-dresser?

If you like bears, sweet romance, a charming story with a lot of humor and a fabulous holiday story this is a must read.
