Blurb: How tangled can a romantic web get?

When gruff mountaineer Dominic Hartington-George seeks sponsorship for his latest expedition, his London PA insists on a more media-friendly profile – like dating celebrity supermodel Zeb Z.

Zeb can’t make the date, so he asks his identical twin, Aidan, to stand in for just one evening. Aidan, a struggling playwright, shuns the limelight to the extent people don’t even know Zeb has a sibling, but he reluctantly agrees.

When the deception has to continue beyond the first date, Aidan fights to keep up the pretense. Dominic likes his sassy, intelligent companion, and Aidan starts falling for the forthright explorer. But how long can Aidan’s conscience cope as confusion abounds? Will coming clean as “the other twin” destroy the trust they’ve built?

Review: Romancing the Wrong Twin is exactly what the title and the blurb says and I have to admit, it is a magnificent guilty pleasure and fantastic addition to Dreamspun Desires series. Being that it is part of the Dreamspun Desires series, you need to expect some level of insta-love, totally hot sexual tension and hot sex between the two MCs, as well as some over the top drama. Yet despite all the drama, the characters actually are relatable, particularly Aidan.

The story is quite self explanatory from the title. Someone is clearly dating someone pretending to be his twin. I know it sounds silly and that was why I wanted this book! Aidan is “the wrong twin” and he is taking the place of his famous brother Zeb (stage name). Zeb is a model and as part of his contract, is often contracted to be seen with other celebrities in order to get seen by the paparazzi. But Zeb can’t make his latest job – to be seen at a film premiere with famous mountaineer Dominic Hartington-George. Dominic has zero person skills but unlike his brother, Aidan is totally attracted to Dominic. The problem is Aidan is continuing to pretend to be his brother and the farce just snowballs from the word go.

Look, Dominic can really be a massive arse and most of the book is drama caused by his ego or by his mouth. In contrast Aidan is all sweet, lovable and very down to earth. I really grew to loved Aidan and his gruff beau. A totally fun and satisfying read. The two are perfect buffers for each other and their chemistry is wonderful – especially when listening to the wonderful voice of Rusty Topsfield, which is just perfect for this type of book.

Review: Neal and Way are back in this instalment of the Iron Eagle Gym series. They are happy together but still learning about one another. Way has trouble following some of Neal’s rules which at times causes tension between the two men.

Neal for his part understands Way’s reluctance and they both find common ground so to speak. I loved the characters. They seemed so different from one another yet meshed very well together.

This was a great addition to the series as it explores deeper into Neal and Way’s characters. I enjoyed the flow of the story, the tension and the sexy times.

Great read.

Review:  Each book in the Sanctuary collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

As a reader I have several favorite authors and stories that I collect.  Although I favor paranormal romances, I will say that R.J. Scott is one of my ultimate favorite contemporary writers of all time.  The story or stories are intriguing and fascinating with the way they are told.  The characters all have their own little way of making you connect with them.  They go from being bold to shy, hard, difficult and sometime pretty strange I would say.  There is an amount of danger in their world that will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat.  The lust also seems to be off the charts sometimes, although in my mind, maybe a bit too eager and fast in some cases.  It doesn’t take away from the story though.

This is the final book in this amazing series, and I have to say that I am not really pleased to see that it is coming to an end.  However it did have a great run.  With this I had to go back and read the previous books to remember each character and their place in the story.  Brandon is a very unique type of guy.  He reminds me of a computer himself sometimes.  He sees the world as numbers and patterns.  Even a pattern on a curtain could drive him crazy.  Brandon and his best friends decided to bring down one of the deadliest men, by going undercover.  It had not worked the way they had thought and now Brandon was the only one left alive.  Sanctuary steps in and keeps him and his sister’s safe, but Brandon has other ideas.

Daniel is going to keep Brandon safe, even if it gets him killed.  More than likely it might want to make him commit murder in the end.  He knows Brandon is not being truthful, but damn he does have a fine ass.  He just has to get Brandon to let him in, because well if you really want to know more, read the book.

There are a bit of quirks to this story that will definitely keep your attention.  I also loved the little twists to it.  The ending really caught my attention, wished I knew what type of snake it was.  I had a lot of fun reading this and can’t wait to see what new stories this amazing author has to come.

I would definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves a bit of suspense, mystery and danger, not to mention sexy men who carry guns.

Blurb: Duncan McLeish owns a ranch. Unlike most ranches, this one is in the Scottish Highlands. Having inherited a failing farm from his grandfather, he turns it into a successful business. He has friends and he loves his home, but he’s lonely, and not even infrequent trips to Glasgow and Edinburgh slake that thirst to find someone. Then Drew Sinclair walks into his life.

Drew Sinclair is tantalizingly close to getting his clothing brand noticed in the industry. He and his business partner, Joy, create individual dresses, while, on the side, Drew produces a line of men’s lingerie. He visits Scotland to design a bridal gown for his sister, Jenna, who is marrying Duncan’s best friend at Christmas.

Duncan and Drew have nothing except their Highland upbringing in common, but they say opposites attract, and the attraction is immediate. Is this simply a summer fling, or can two men who live such opposite lives miles away from each other find a way to love?

Reader Advisory: This book contains references to homophobia and references to death of a character’s parents.

Review: When Drew meets Duncan he finds the one man who challenges his dreams of making it in the fashion design business, he falls hard for the Scottish cowboy but his life is in London and it’s tearing Drew apart to leave the sexy man behind. Duncan never dreamed that he’d meet a man like Drew, Drew is everything Duncan has secretly wanted but Duncan’s life is with his ranch in the Scottish Highlands and while he longs for Drew there’s no way a relationship could work… is there?

This is a great story that I found intriguing, the idea of a Scottish cowboy was just fascinating and having a fashion designer as his love interest was delicious.

Both Duncan and Drew are great characters; although it took me a short while to warm up to Drew (he was a little brazen at first). Both Duncan and Drew proved to be a match made in heaven, even though they do have a bit of angst as they try to work out what they both wanted and how to get it.

The story is perfectly written with it being a sweet romance with just an added dash of angst, the relationship is fast paced but it felt natural. Duncan and Drew just fit perfectly together making it seem natural for them to fall for each other so quickly.

I enjoyed this story and thought that it was a great read; it’s perfect for a lazy afternoon in the sun where we get a huge dose of romance shot through with hot sex.

Review:   When I first saw this book I wasn’t too sure if I wanted to give it a chance or not, especially since I have not had a chance to read anything by this author before.  The cover is a bit dark to me, but it turned out that it fit the story perfectly.  It is a romance story, but it is a dark romance with a serious tone to it.  I just wasn’t too sure about the story though.

Dominick was born into a huge mob family, but he decided to take a different route, which made sense because being gay in the mob family usually got you killed.  A few years ago he had save a male prostitute that was one of his uncle’s boys.  At first it was to protect but soon fell into love.  That love ended the moment Rob decided to go out on his own.  Rob had been controlled by Danny and feared Dominick would do the same.  He realized right after leaving that he had made a mistake.  However it was the end of their story.  That is until now, when they ran into each other on the subway.

Rob was in charge at an institute for kids that were criminals.  Dominick’s latest murder leads him right to one of those kids.  The two are thrown back into each other’s lives, but the dangers from the past might still be waiting for them.

As I said above this has a dark and serious tone to it, but the romance is slowly building once more.  It is like a lost love that has been rekindled.  I am still not really sure if I like it personally, but the story is pretty damn good.  It was very entertaining and kept my attention from the start.  I enjoyed reading it and can’t wait to see what book two has going for it. Although I will admit that the title doesn’t do it justice.

Blurb: Love is love. But what if the fight for equality gets in the way of building a relationship?

Lorcan Barrett has never considered himself relationship material. After his parents made it perfectly clear they’d never welcome a partner of his into their home, he learned to love his own company and now can’t imagine sharing his life with another. After a single passionate kiss with Eric Kavanagh—the night before he travels to Canada for three months—Lorcan’s no longer sure he wants to be on his own. The problem is, he has no idea what sharing his life with someone else might entail.

Eric Kavanagh grew up in a loving and supportive family and had always assumed he’d end up in a committed relationship. Sure that he’s found the one, Eric doesn’t worry about the fact that Lorcan has no experience when it comes to love and relationships. They are good together, so what could possibly go wrong?

When both men get involved in the marriage equality referendum in Ireland, it appears to bring them even closer together, until Lorcan’s insecurities get the upper hand and he shuts Eric out. Will the fight for a Yes vote cost them their relationship, or will they be able to find a balance between the love they share and the need for equality?

Review: This book is part of a series and is best enjoy read in order.

Lorcan never really thought he’d ever have a relationship, while his parents might begrudgingly accept him as gay they made it perfectly clear that they would never accept any man that he was with, so he’s closed himself off. But when Eric came along Lorcan’s feelings blossom and now Lorcan eagerly awaits Eric’s return from Canada.

Eric has always been accepted by his family and his family welcome Lorcan with open arms, but Eric knows that something is gnawing at Lorcan and as they get involved in the marriage equality referendum in Ireland Lorcan finally begins to open up about his family.

This is a great story about two men with different experiences of family trying to find a balance in their relationship, while seeking equality from not only a country but from family as well.

Eric is the perfect boyfriend, he’s confident and secure in his place in the world and he knows what he wants… and he wants Lorcan. Lorcan has his share of worries; he has never had a relationship but Eric calls to him. Lorcan struggles to share his feelings with Eric, and he longs for acceptance from his family.

This story is about so much more than a relationship between two men, it’s also about the relationships that they have with their families as well. Because while Eric’s family are fully supportive Lorcan’s are far from it. We see Lorcan worry and angst about his family’s reaction to his having someone in his life, his gran turns out to be an angel and his sister and brothers supportive but his parents; well they are another matter completely.

Lorcan has a lot of internal struggle; it begins to test his relationship with Eric especially when he begins to pull away from Eric. Eric tries to be understanding and he tries to remember that this is Lorcan’s first relationship and he’s experiencing everything relationship for the first time.

This is a wonderfully written story, while Eric and Lorcan’s relationship does have its moments of tension it’s Lorcan and his family problems that draws the focus. We get an amazing feeling of realness as Lorcan struggles; we get the pure frustration that just pores off him as he just wants what everyone ‘hetero’ has… just to be treated the same as everyone else. Equality.

I recommend this to those who love characters who have struggles, who adore lovely couples just fitting together, who cheer for equality, and those that love a wonderful ending.

Review:  I first came across Mary Calmes when she wrote about Kage and Jory in A Matter of Time series.  There is something about a man with a gun that just wets my appetite and gives me what I want right off the bat.  The way she puts together a story just seems to captivate me throughout the whole story, so when I came across this series I knew it was going to be the same.  To top it off Kage is our sexy men’s boss.

With this story you have two very sexy US Marshals who start out partners at work but it soon builds into something very steamy.  Miro had wanted his partner for so long, but damn that man is straight.  However when Ian comes home from a tour, it soon becomes apparent that the man was more into Miro then he thought.  The first half is their partnership at work and the trouble these two seem to get into, and then it changes into something I really loved.

This story is told mainly from Miro’s perspective and you really do get to know a man when you are listening pretty good to what they are saying and wishing.  Ian is a big hit for me, because not only is he a US Marshal but he is also special forces, but there is a side that many do not get to see but his partner.  I have come across many stories where the characters are law enforcement, but you don’t really see that many with US Marshals so it was a big hit for me.

What made me laugh the most was at the beginning the others around were jealous that a newbie got to work with special forces, but then it turned to pity because Ian was the type to run headlong into danger and Miro just had to follow.  Which meant Miro would usually get banged up pretty good.

This story is so filled with actions, suspense, danger and some hot sex that your mind will be blown away.  I loved the two young witnesses and can’t wait to see if they get their own story in the future.  I had a lot of fun reading this and look forward to reading the next book.  I would definitely recommend this story to anyone who loves sexy men who are armed to the teeth.

But Heath’s secrets run deeper than Theo ever imagined. He’s actually Heathcliff Pierrepont Blackwood, Duke of Kingston, in hiding from recent death threats. Though Heath and Theo are opposites in almost every way, their love might bridge the gap – if they’re willing to take the risk.

Review: For me MJ O’Shea has been one of those authors who I’m always hit and miss when it comes to enjoying their books. However, I am more than happy to say that Duke In Hiding is one of those stories that I absolutely loved. The definite highlight for me was hearing the wonderful Rusty Topsfield narrate a story where you really do need to suspend your disbelief more often than hoped for. Having already read Duke in Hiding I was interested to see what happened with the audio – I find that I enjoy a lot of book more in their audio. Ultimately, though, I think my enjoyment level was about the same.

Duke In Hiding is exactly what the title and blurb says.

Heath is the moody English aristocrat who goes to small town New Hampshire in order to get away from a potentially deadly situation after an attempt is made on his life. This is where he meets Theo, a landscape gardener who also doubles as a bar tender until his summer workload picks up. Needless to say, the guys start off on the wrong foot because of a certain duke’s moody behavior. Yet from the start there are intense sparks of attraction between the guys. In the end I loved these guys. Theo was a good buffer for Heath’s gruffness.

I think my only criticism is that the ending seemed a little rushed. There was a lot for Theo to comprehend at the end and he seemed to just let it happen and accepted everything without much of a fight. I don’t really mean fight in the literal sense. I just felt that perhaps it needed to occur on a longer time frame. After all, on top of the personal issues to overcome there was the mystery of who would want Heath so completely out of the picture that his life was in danger.

Review: Chris and Matthew have enough tension between them to cut a knife. The give and take between them was intense as well as the sexy times they had with each other. I found it intriguing that two men who seem to hate one another are also attracted to each other.

There was no shortage of sexual tension throughout. I felt at times it was a little overboard but still a good read to continue. I felt they should have talked rather than fight. Then maybe there would have been a better understanding between them.

Overall it was an enjoyable read. Chris and Matthew sizzled on the pages throughout.

Good read.

Blurb: Who would’ve thought that a British hitman would fall in lust at first sight with an American felon? It could become deadly for both.

Aiden Moriarty is a Florida ‘herbalist’ who works with a performance-enhancing drug used by many athletes. One of them is baseball star Ivan Salerno, who was caught using the drug and is now on the brink of getting suspended. Because of Ivan’s connections with a rogue mob boss, Aiden is taken into a witness-protection program, working along with baseball higher-ups until he testifies.

The mob boss, Augustine Ora, has hired former British military officer and his best hitman Devlin ‘Brit’ Crawford to do the job. Ora has instructed Devlin to go to Miami, kidnap Aiden and take him to the local airport to be transported to Havana, Cuba, to be executed by Ora’s top officers.

However, when Devlin receives the email, the pictures of the blue-eyed felon catch his eye and he is moved to go in a different direction. Instead of delivering Aiden to the airport, he has thoughts of taking him away and saving him from Ora’s wrath.

This move puts himself and Aiden, as well as his assistant, Miranda Ashley, in huge danger. Will Devlin keep Aiden safe despite the odds, or will he fail, causing Ora and his men to come after him?

Review: This is the first book in the PROTEKT series. Devlin is a hired assassin working for ruthless mobster who tells Devlin to bring Aiden, a man set to testify against him and others, to him. When Devlin see’s and meets Aiden though he has second thoughts. Even though it may cost him his life.

I loved this book. Reading how Devlin struggled with his decision seemed real and genuine. I was glad he took his time and weighed out the pros and cons. What I was the delighted about in this book was Aiden and Devlin did not jump into sex as is the case with so many books. They flirted, bantered back and forth and teased each other. It is not until was after halfway through that they even kiss. When they finally did be together it was explosive.

I felt Miranda’s character was a bit much at times. Her jealousy and possessiveness of Devlin had m shaking my head considering they were only friends. I really felt bad for Aiden. I understood why he did what he did to a point. Was delighted he wanted to make things right.

It was non-stop on the go for these two as they tried to get to safety before being killed. Well written and amazing journey this book pulls you in and doesn’t let go until the very end. I’m truly looking forward to the next book and seeing what happens. I Loved it.

Review: I was curious about Catching Heir in it’s audio form. In the past I have found Julia Talbot’s romances both sweet and enjoyable, but Catching Heir – as much I enjoyed it – was not something I remember as a brilliant story. In fact, I remember expecting more out of it.

The story itself hits all the right buttons for me. I love to read sport orientated books – especially when you have the famous bad-boy type of competitor (though Cullen is not a bad boy). I also love when one or both of the MCs are thrown into a situation completely unexpected to what they were expecting for their careers. I am so happy to report that this is a book I found so much more enjoyable as an audio – John Solo’s narration gave enough emotion and oomph that I was missing when I initially read the book. His narration in turn made me, not literally, sit up and appreciate the story a whole lot more. Reflecting on my previous review, I think that I was finally able to hear and feel the attraction between the two MCs, which of course is vital in a romance.

The story is about Cullen Patrick; he’s famous on the snowboarding circuit and is one of the best in the country. However, he gets a call from a lawyer one day. He has inherited the bed and breakfast owned by the grandfather he had never known. There are conditions to the will, though, specifically that hotel manager Matt Nathanson is to be consulted on any major changes and essentially cannot be fired. Matt is the devoted manager of Treeline Estates. He has a lot of ideas to improve, even with a tight budget and still ensure that the building maintains its historical façade. Matt is close to inheriting Treeline too, except that Cullen finally turns up to claim his inheritance.

Review: I don’t know what to say about this book. I really do have mixed feelings about it. I’ve heard of Jack Byrne before but never actually read or listened to the audio of one of his books until now.

Set somewhere is country New South Wales or Queensland in Australia (not entirely sure which state), we first meet Jake, he is both gay and asexual where he works his farm. He meets a stranger who comes to town one day, sexy gay biker Damien Jamieson – who ends up being not so much a stranger Jake’s best friend makes their chance encounter perhaps a little more. Jake and Damien get to know each other more when Jake becomes something of a part time musician down at the local pub. That’s “the bare bones” of the story, as they say.

The story itself I have no problems with – the premise is interesting and totally hot for those that love a cowboy/jackaroo/country boy, as is the attraction between the characters. However, one thing that I found really difficult to get past was how the author handled the fact that his main character, Jake, is asexual. At times it felt like the usual trope along the lines of “he just hasn’t met the right guy yet”, which is comparable to a gay person being treated as that they “haven’t met the right girl yet”. I’m going to leave it at that but take that as you like – or maybe just ignore me, it all depends on your tastes after all.

As for the narration, again I didn’t have any outright objections to the narration. Jonathan David has a wonderful voice and helped me connect with Jake a little more than I would have if I had read the book. However, I am Australian, and we tend to go to the shortest, some may say laxiest, pronunciation if possible. While the narration has no real accent present there were a few glaring mispronunciations that had me wanting me skip over sections. For example an Australia pronounces “Melbourne” is “Mel-ben”, “Brisbane” is “Bris-bin” and chooks (slang for chicken) is pronounced the same as in “hooks”. These were the three mispronunciations, the very American “Mel-born”, “Bris-bane” and “chooks” as in “choo-ks”, which really grated on my nerves. There were a couple others but I won’t further bore you with details.

I think this is one of the take it or leave it – love it or hate it – type of stories. For me, while I didn’t hate it – hate is too strong a word – I am definitely going to leave it.

Blurb: Ryder Daniels is all too familiar with rejection. His parents cut off contact because he’s gay and his boyfriend left him, choosing drugs over love. Aside from his rescued pit bull, his only joy is hanging out with his younger brother. Then his mother does the unthinkable and forbids them from seeing each other, leaving Ryder devastated and alone. His friends urge him to date, but Ryder would rather throw himself into working at the dog rescue and figuring out a way to see his brother again.

When Jason Mallory’s girlfriend gives him an ultimatum to get married, he shocks everyone by breaking up with her instead. He believes he’s too busy for a relationship now that the construction company he started with his brother is taking off. When he discovers a group of abandoned pit bulls and calls the local dog rescue group to pick them up, an uncomfortable encounter with Ryder causes Jason to question feelings he’s hidden deep inside for years.

Jason and Ryder build a friendship – until an unexpected kiss sparks the attraction they’ve been fighting. Jason gives Ryder unconditional love and helps him reconnect with his brother, while Ryder shows Jason the passion he’s always missed in relationships. Together, they must battle through their family differences and ugly prejudices. Only then can they prove that once you find the right person to love, there’s no turning back.

Review: A warm and fuzzy love story with very hot sexual content! Two great Characters, Ryder, who has paid the price for who he is, though afraid to put himself out there socially and romantically, his heart is wrapped around his animal rescue. Jason, afraid to step out of the closet, but bold and brash in every other aspect of his life, has met his match in Ryder. These two have great chemistry, the question is, can Ryder risk his heart for someone who doesn’t quite understand all he’s lost? I love Jason’s devious plan to find a way for Ryder to see more of his brother, the mother is a total bitch, and the other characters just add to the fun though sometimes unrealistic balance of the plot.

Plenty of interesting parallels here, Ryder is very much like an abused stray dog wary of humans who are there only to rescue it. Like the stray, Ryder’s heart has been abused, he’s been neglected and left behind by his family, and he’s very wary of trusting the love and relationship Jason is offering.

Charlie David always does a great job with narration, though some of the male voices get a little too close and create a teeny amount of confusion.

This story is excellent for animal lovers, those looking for a super sweet love story and HEA, with heaps of steamy topping!

Marshall, Wes Stanhope has spent years running from his father’s controlling ways, but when his mother dies, leaving behind one last wish, he finds himself back under his thumb. Review: I have never been a fan of anthologies or stories combined into one long novel.  They are always time consuming and drive me nuts.  I like a normal story to read and then put down, but with stories like these it just makes it feel to long with one book.  Now this one is a bit different as the stories are not short stories per say, but normal length.  It still felt like it would never end but was pretty sweet.

The second thing I always noticed is that focus around one person or one place, now at first one would think Alaska but then I realized it was Mac bringing them all together, well sort of.

Wings of Love

Scotty Cade - Wings of Love CoverBrad’s husband died of cancer and it has torn our sexy doctor apart.  He doesn’t want to live with the memories of their times that will be apart.  Two men so deeply in love.  So he heads to the one place they both loved, Alaska, where they both met Mac, a dear friend and pilot.

Mac had lost his wife to cancer three years ago and it had left him alone with his daughter and brother in law.  They had been together for some time but he had promised her to share his love with another.  Don’t think she was thinking another guy though.  Things sure do heat up with these two.

There is just a bit of pain, loss, excitement and danger in this little story.  It is a cute story of love found in the strangest places.  Now I want to give Mac’s brother-in-law a smack upside the head but I got a feeling his time is coming.  It was a joy to read.

Treasure of Love

Scotty Cade - Treasure of Love CoverAs I said Jack’s time will come, and it will come in this story.  Some time has passed since he made an ass of himself with Mac and Brad.  He realized what he has always known; the he himself was attracted to another man.  In this case a treasure hunter who wants to rent his boat.

Dax is very open and out, but he can be a total jerk sometimes though. Dax and his sister are looking for a sunken boat that was said to have large amount of gold from the gold rush in Alaska.  It makes me think of the old song “North to Alaska”, or John Wayne.  These two just seem to heat the sheets and boy pay backs are going to be good.

There is adventure, excitement, danger, and those pay backs in this story.  It was fun to read and I enjoyed the guys quite a bit.  There was even a nice little twist to this story that was a fun add I must say.

Bounty of Love

Scotty Cade - Bounty of Love CoverNow in book one you meet Zander and Jake, the owners of the lodge where Brad was heading.  Well this is their story, and I have to say that with this book being book 3, it made the rest of the stories seem out of order.  Zander and his fiancé, plus his parents were enjoying the final touches right before their wedding.   That is until the next thing Zander knows is waking up in the hospital and his world crashing around him.  His parents and his boyfriend were killed, and FBI Agent Jake wants to find out who was behind it.

Now there are some wicked twists to this story that I had not expected but was a great add.  Those behind the murders and their reasons were a big shock.  I loved these guys and was glad they got their story.  Although this should have been book two.  This is also when you meet Mac and his wife.

Foundation of Love

Scotty Cade - Foundation of Love CoverNow I was wondering how this book fell in with the other three, then I realized that Wes was friends with Brad and in turn you see Mac again.  Those two are still going strong.  Any way Wes’s mother has passed on and a legacy is left behind.  She wanted to have a hospital built and set up, with father and son running it.  Too bad old daddy dearest is a racist and a homophobic asshat.  It puts Wes up against his father one more time.  The architect turns out to be Ty, and damn is the man isn’t hot.  However two things are against him, one he is gay and two he is black, something Wes doesn’t care about.  However daddy will not like it.  I would say time to kick daddy to the curb.

Now this one was pretty good but just a bit boring when considering the other three books.  The only danger came from Wes father, but not physical danger.  However it still rocked the story.

Overall

The stories all were pretty good, but they also felt a bit off.  I think that it was the danger added to each story that did this, especially if you’re going to combine them into one large novel.  If they were to stay separate books then it would not feel this way I suppose.  Other than my issues it still made for one hot and sexy read.  I enjoyed them and would definitely recommend this book.

Review: This is a totally sweet story. For me I was looking forward to this one because I particularly enjoy to read Clare London’s book. Her writing style speaks to me and makes the time fly as I consume the offering on my computer screen. The other thing is that I can never resist a book based in the UK – and nothing says romance like the guy running away from the big city, and romance on a Scottish Island.

Greg Ventura is the guy who left the hustle and bustle of the city to live in an island in the Scottish Highlands. Seriously, Outlander Obsessenachs will probably want to read this one for that alone, and I admit that is probably another part of why I was looking for to this. He comes from a family and famous, ridiculously good looking and ridiculously talented brothers. He’s the Ugly Duckling. He doesn’t think that he is as good looking as his brothers – mostly because his brothers instilled this thought into his mind. But now his brothers are calling on him again. They need him to be part of a reality TV show and look like a happy family.

That’s how Greg meets Perry (Peregrine) Goodwood. Perry is a ambitious about his career as a designer/fashionista. It’s hard to explain his career except that he is the guy that does the fashion makeovers. He’s been hired by Greg’s brothers to find Greg, make him over and get him to London to his family. The problem is that Perry gets more than he bargained for when he discovers the gentle, carefree soul that is Grey Ventura – very much unlike his brothers. On top of all that, he needs to be in London because he needs his job desperately, as mistakes from his past threaten to keep him in debt for longer than he can handle.

I love the story and the whirlwind Scottish romance. It is as simple as that. It appeals to that side of me that loves everything about British dramas and the Scottish Highlands (even with all his rain and cold).
