Richard Kerrigan is on the verge of losing hope. Fired from his job for blowing the whistle on a defect that would harm service members if used as designed, he is now blacklisted in the Chicago area. A local Serbian mobster wants Richard and won’t take no for an answer.

Richard relocates to Manhattan to begin his new job and stays with Julien Bellaire, his mentor, who is also Richard’s Mate.

Before they can settle in, the Serbian mobster turns up dead and a corrupt cop who secretly works for the Serbians comes to New York with trumped up charges to pin the murder on Julio. Review: Each book in the Werewolves of Manhattan collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

I have been reading romance and paranormal’s for over 30 years and can honestly say that I love a good paranormal romance more than any other kind of story.  It was not until 5 years ago that I started read m/m romance stories.  There is just something about the worlds created in them that seem more attractive to me. So over the years you come to cherish and love certain authors more than many others.  It is the way they tell a story that will have you wishing you were right there with them.  And sometimes you wished you were the one falling in love

Tis author’s characters are quirky as hell, protective to the point of well you can guess that answer.  I still have my ultimate favorite ones but many start to work their way into my heart.  Her stories also are full of action, suspense and danger plus some hot sexy time for our guys.  They catch my attention the moment I start reading and keep it all the way to the very last word.  This story gave me everything I could ask for in a story and so much more.

Richard has got to be one of the smartest men I have ever seen.  Things in his life have not always been easy.  His best friend had disappeared when he was a small child after his parents were killed.  He lost both his father and mother to illness.  Then when the company he worked for wouldn’t listen to the dangers of one of his designs, he was fired for blowing the whistle on the dangers.  Now he is working at a store and bartending to make ends meet, as well as paying on his student loans.  To top it off a mob guy from Serbia has his eye on him.  Things are not looking up.  That is until someone connected to his dear friend finds him.

Now here he is with a job at Garou Industires and living with a very sexy man.  Things might just be going good for him.  That is until the Serbian is killed and the cop is trying to frame him.  Let’s see how Julien and the other wolves protect him; well you are just going to have to read this book to find out more.

I love how it has that serious tone to it but there is a bit of humor in it that your attention is captivated throughout it all. I loved the cover and that was what caught my attention first.  I just can’t seem to get enough of this series. There is something about the way that A.C. Katt tells you a story more than likely have you laughing your ass off at parts of it.

It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a book. I can honestly tell you that this is going to be one of those types of series. One that I will have to read over and over. I love the way all the feelings they felt was involved in this story. It was the perfect story for me and I loved it. I can’t wait to read the next story.

Review:  Each book in the Pariah Pack collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

I felt that this one started in the middle of the story and not at the beginning.  You walk into it knowing who was who and where each one belongs also.  There were no surprise gasp or suspense to it.  Also what was different was this author added in some extra roles into a wolf pack, that you would not normally find anywhere else.  Now I am not saying that it is a bad thing, but a bit off to me.

Kade is the Zeta and Randy is an omega.  The difference is Kade is a wolf and Randy is a coywolf, a mixture between coyote and wolf.  Kade is also a bit older then Randy and teaches the pack life to others, and is in fact teaching Randy the history since he missed out on so much with his last pack.  He is also his mate.

Randy is nineteen and seems to have a good head on his shoulders.  He doesn’t understand many of what has happened and has been abused before.  Then the packs deserters show up and one is looking to cause trouble.  Want to know more, read the book.

Now I wasn’t too sure about the all-female coywolves that showed up, and didn’t much care for it.  I can see how she could be of help, but really she was off to me.  Then the tau, well it really didn’t make any sense to me at all.  Why not just call him a medicine man, and let the reader get the full effect.  Added unusual words do not make a story better, just drove me nuts.  Also the pack dynamics drove me crazy as well.  The whole book felt off and a bit twisted to me.  I don’t know what was missing but I hate to admit that this story just didn’t rock my world at all.

Blurb: Marriage gets less convenient when love is involved.

Review: OK, confession time, I love Kate McMurray and everything she does. That means I’ve already read this story. However, interestingly, I have to say that I much preferred the audio over reading the book. I think that this has a lot to do with Rusty Topsfield’s wonderful narration, the guy is superb at his job and I love listening to him.

The story follows Archie Katsaros – really Archimedes and that reminds me of the The Once and Future King/Sword in the Stone more than it does a Greek Tycoon – he’s running the family’s business. In fact, he’s trying to keep it afloat after his father’s death while trying to live up to the lofty expectations set by himself while idolizing a father who perhaps did not deserve such devotion from his son. Then there is Ondrej Kovac. He’s Polish and wants to move to the US to be free of his family’s stifling expectations and to be himself, which means he wants to be free to love who he wants to love because his family will never accept his sexuality. When Ondrej’s work visa comes to an end, he and Archie embark on a harebrained scheme – Archie will marry Ondrej to give him a green card and Ondrej will provide Archie with the funds he needs to save the family company.

It’s fun to see the guys get to know each other. Archie is really just a teddy bear and needs the support of someone like Ondrey to bolster his confidence. Ondrej is quick as a whip and super intelligent, and somehow that is just the perfect match for Archie. As they get to know each other it’s fun to watch the sparks begin.

There are some plot holes, but nothing too big that you can’t get over, though I was largely happy with the character and plot development. It is more so down to the fact that the silly boys needed to communicate more and because some of the situations felt a little too contrived. But overall an interesting plot line and a fantastic narrator make for a pleasurable few hours of audio.

Stephen Osborne - Pale as a Ghost CoverPale as a Ghost – Duncan Andrews Thrillers # 1 Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts

Pale as a Ghost stars private detective Duncan Andrews and his faithful zombie dog, Daisy, his best friend Gina, who is a witch and his boyfriend’s ghost, Robbie, who was killed ten years prior. I liked the story. It flowed smoothly with some humor thrown in. Duncan is able to see, hear and communicate with ghosts hence his ability to see his dead boyfriend. Makes for dating non-existent. He is lonely and wants companionship when he meets Nick.

The cases he takes on are both complex and simple. Find a missing woman and determine who is killing women. The second case takes on a disturbing vibe as he discovers the person is not actually human. This person is copying the jack the ripper murders once every one hundred years. There is plenty of action, suspense and drama to be had throughout this story. I liked the flow of the book. Very well detailed with a hint of more to come.

Stephen Osborne - Animal Instinct CoverAnimal Instinct – Duncan Andrews Thrillers # 2 Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts

Duncan is on the hunt for a stolen skull belonging to a powerful warlock. This skull gifts the human unimaginable powers while at the same time changing them. Several deaths and many attacks later Duncan’s life is at stake to find the culprit.

A fantastic story with plenty of action, mystery and suspense. I loved the way Duncan left no stone unturned in his quest to find the skull. A television psychic causes Robbie and Duncan problems as well by making Robbie think it’s better for him to move on. I loved it.

Stephen Osborne - The Scarlet Tide CoverThe Scarlet Tide – Duncan Andrews Thrillers # 3 Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts

In this exciting addition to the series Duncan is on the case of finding a boyfriend who is acting strange only to discover he’s a vampire. Doing away with a band of vampires is not easy. Duncan gets a shock as the leader Dominic bites him. Amid all this is Nick’s request to Gina to allow him to see ghosts and Robbie’s plans to leave on New Year’s.

I liked this story. Though I do have to say it is getting irritating about the way Robbie and Duncan keep bringing up and pondering Robbie leaving. Either leave or stay already. Make up your minds and stick with the decision.

Stephen Osborne - Dead End CoverDead End – Duncan Andrews Thrillers # 4 Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts

Duncan Andrews is on the case of an evil ghost hell-bent on destroying lives. Moore was a doctor but also a serial killer. He took the lives of seven young men then his own life. In death he is the embodiment of pure evil. With the help of his team Duncan will attempt to get rid of the ghosts haunting Jason’s, Robbie’s cousin, house.

In this book a lot is going on. A witch hunting group has set sights on Gina for elimination, an incubi is on the loose, Nick has settled into his ghost helping, Duncan and Robbie come to terms with their relationship. I liked all the new twists and turns as they kept the story interesting and intriguing.

Overall:

All in all, this bundle was absolutely awesome. Each book gives the reader an insight into Duncan and Robbie’s lives. The cases bring about a closeness with each other as they work together to solve each one. The paranormal characters were different and fresh for each story and drew the reader in. Demons, incubi, ghosts, witches, hunters, vampires and a zombie dog made for fantastic well written reads. I truly loved them and highly recommend each one.

Review: This story started off great, and I was getting into the story and then it gets very confusing. It starts out with Adrian and his then boyfriend, who are out in the mountains trying to reconnect their relationship and having a picnic. Their car breaks down and they’re stranded in the mountains. They set out to find help or someone with a telephone, when they get a Bar and Adrian elects to go inside. While talking to the bartender, Adrian is hit on by a patron, but lets him know that he has a boyfriend.

Days later, Adrian boyfriend returns home from hanging out with friends. Adrian sees a hickie on his neck and calls him on it. Oh boy, he offloads on Adrian and tears him apart. He tells Adrian that he’s cheap, and that he’s extremely boring in bed. He criticizes his home and his clothes. Adrian puts him out. Days later, he goes back to the bar, where the guy hit on him to find out if he can prove to himself that he’s nothing his ex said he was.

He gets together with Wyatt and he’s amazed that someone as big and handsome as Wyatt is interested and wants to spend time with him. They meet up every other weekend and have steamy sex in a Motel. Now Wyatt is keeping things about himself from Adrian. He’s on the run and hiding from his past. But when he thinks that people are following him, and thinks his past has put Adrian’s life in danger, he comes out of hiding. With whatever is going on at Adrian’s workplace and Wyatt’s friend showing up at Adrian’s place telling him about the reason why Wyatt is running, have Adrian feeling as if he’s in a twilight zone.

I like the thriller and all the drama in this story, and if you are interested in that I gladly recommend this story is for you.

Review: This is a first time I’ve heard or read by KC Burn and I must admit that I was intrigued.

Raven is an ex porn star, with a penchant for wearing kilts, whose career was cut short by a car accident. Now he’s between careers and toying with ideas in his head about the future. For now though, he’s an escort to one of the subscribers to the company he had made movies for. The guy’s a dick, to the short, but he does meet hot air con repairman Caleb. It’s a mix of love and lust at first sight. Caleb is certainly the first guy Raven has been interested in since his accident. Raven is also scared that Caleb will run a mile if he knew that he had been in porn. Well guess what, that’s a recipe for disaster. There’s a lot of sweetness in this book nonetheless.

I enjoyed the book for the most part but I didn’t enjoy this one as much as I had expected and I guess I’m a little disappointed about that. Ok, I’m a fickle person. I saw “Tartan” in the title and thought “oh, Scotsman”… well, not a Scotsman but there were definitely kilts. I suppose years of reading historical romances and the Outlander series had me thinking of hot highlanders. But that wasn’t why I was disappointed, I think that was more to do with the story falling a little flat for me, I think because a major component of this story at the climax (pun intended) actually had everything to do with miscommunication between the two main characters.
