Mick lands a temporary job at the yard, and finds an uneasy crash pad at Scotty’s place…where the ragged ends of his emotions get tangled up in Scotty and Mercy’s relationship.

But when Mick hears a Harley engine from his past bearing down on him, his first instinct is to go back to the half-life he’d been living. Lest his secrets destroy the only two people who’ve ever made him feel whole.

Blurb: The heart doesn’t take requests. It calls the tune.

Greg Douglas’s wife surprised him with an early 25th anniversary gift: a divorce. Staying with friends Ethan and Rhett seems like a good idea, just until he gets back on his feet. The guys have an even better idea to take his mind off his troubles—take him out to explore the other half of his bisexuality.

After a quarter century suppressing his hidden desires, he’s not waiting any longer. Especially not after laying eyes on the gorgeous deejay at Wilde’s.

Deejay and single dad Sailo Isaia isn’t looking for anything serious. He’s definitely not out to be a sexual teacher, never mind to a man almost two decades his senior. But as Greg gets the hang of having a male lover, Sailo can’t help himself. They both keep coming back for more. And more. And more.

But a few nagging questions hold Sailo back from giving his whole heart. Is this just Greg’s midlife crisis and rebound fling? Or a chance to fill that empty space—forever—for both Sailo and his beloved son?

Product Warnings:  Contains an older guy who’s waited half his life for this, a younger guy who didn’t realize how lonely he was, and some very hot visits to the upstairs VIP lounge at Wilde’s. Author is not responsible for readers who can no longer look at a leather booth the same way again.

Review: Even though I couldn’t remember who Greg was for the life of me, I couldn’t put this book down once I started it. Not only was it beautifully written, but the characters are very real and very easy to connect with. This was the perfect blend of fiction that could very well be a real life story because nothing was exaggerated or far-fetched. The characters’ reactions are easy to understand and felt very real. And the sex was…….*falls over dead or in a sex-induced coma* hot!!!

Greg is in his late forties, has been a family man his whole life and has a lot to show for all the years spent with his wife: three beautiful children between the ages of 18 and 23, a cute granddaughter he loves with all his heart, 25 years of beautiful, priceless memories and……. a brand new divorce certificate with the ink still wet. Two weeks before their 25th wedding anniversary Greg’s wife tells him things between them are no longer working and she wants a divorce.

Blindsided, brokenhearted and confused, Greg temporarily moves in with his long-time friends Ethan and Rhett. Ethan and Rhett help Greg realize that his marriage was over a good while before his wife decided to end it. But, that doesn’t mean Greg doesn’t hurt still. What hurts him the most is the feeling of failure. Especially once he learns his wife has been cheating on him.

I have to say when I realized Greg was living with the (in) famous duo I was terrified a threesome was going to happen. Because, we know how much Ethan and Rhett love to bring a third in their bedroom. Fortunately, they helped him get laid, but they didn’t exactly do the laying. Greg decides it’s time to be 100% honest with himself and admit he’s bisexual, even though he’s never acted on his attraction towards men.

Ethan and Rhett take Greg to Wilde’s for a night of fun, and Greg literally stumbles across Sailo, the beautiful deejay. Sailo is 10 years younger than Greg and he’s the father of a six-year-old boy he is co-parenting with a lesbian couple that are also his best friends. Right from the beginning they acknowledge Sailo is Greg’s rebound. That this is the first time Greg gives into his attraction towards men and there are absolutely no expectations that their sexual relationship might be something more.

I really liked Sailo and Greg together, because they had an instant, believable, natural chemistry that was just enough to keep the sexual tension simmer throughout the book. While Greg and Sailo indulge in many deliciously hot sexual adventures, the sex wasn’t gratuitous and I didn’t feel like there was too much of it. Oh lord, did those two set the sheets on fire!!! And to make it even better, Greg is a gay sex virgin…yum!

There is a beautiful friendship that develops between these two and I loved how frank and honest Greg was when it came to his feelings towards his ex-wife and his emotional state after the divorce. The divorce wasn’t swept under the rug just because Greg discovered the delights of gay sex, and that’s very realistic because there’s no way someone gets over the past 25 years overnight.

Another thing I absolutely loved is Greg’s relationship with his children, especially his sadness and angst when it came to his middle child, the kids’ easy acceptance of their father’s sexuality, and how nicely they accepted Sailo as part of their family.

This doesn’t sound good enough for you yet? What if I tell you there’s an amazing epilogue a year later that shows Greg and Sailo as a solid couple that celebrate their Christmas together with their families? That’s heartwarming and beautiful and the perfect way to end a book. The only thing I wanted and didn’t get is Sailo’s POV, but I don’t think it took away from the overall story.

I’m in love!

Review: Each book in the Cedar Falls Series collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

I came across Shea when she started writing this series and the title was the first thing that always seemed to catch my eye. They are cute and funny as hell with a hint to the couples. There are the Alphas of each couple and the men that they love. Throughout each story I have to say that Jesse was always my favorite of them all. He is outrageous but you can tell that once he sees you as family he will be there for you throughout it all.

In this book you have nine very sexy, funny, quirky couples showing their love for each other in a wedding.

Leave it to Jesse to talk them into all getting married at the same time. He did get his other wish. He got to plan their bachelor party. Now that is going to lead them into some very happy surprises. There will be no dry eye in the church when the guys get around to telling their love and the ones around them, their feelings that are in their hearts.

I have loved each book and can tell you that I have read each one more than a dozen times apiece. So when I saw this book, I couldn’t wait to read it but also hope that it is not the ending to this wonderful series. Though there are some serious tones to it, there is more humor to keep me laughing for days. I loved this book and can’t wait to get my hands on Shea’s next story.

I had so much fun and would definitely recommend it.

Review: Each book in the Nehalem Pack collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Cullen and Glenn had known each other since school. However it was not the best of times for Cullen. Glenn had tormented him, calling him names, hit him, and shoved him into lockers. It was easy to say that Cullen has always been scared of Glenn. Even after Glenn saved Cullen from a wild wolf shifter and was turned in to a wolf himself. Now Glenn was back and was trying to not only apologize but to show him that he had changed.

Glenn had known that he had been cruel to Cullen, but he also knew that he had wanted him since he was thirteen. He had just denied his feelings until now. Cullen was his mate and he had to show him that he had changed. He had to prove to him that he loved him.

I loved how the bully changed his ways and found love in the man he was mean to. I also loved the danger that showed up in the end of the book. I always did love a good romance that didn’t have the couple falling in love right from the start. I loved how they had to make it work.

Plus with this one it was fun with the family surprise. One that I will have to read over and over. I love the way all the feelings they felt was involved in this story. It was the perfect story for me and I loved it.

I can’t wait to read the next story.

Review: Each book in the Werewolves of Manhattan collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Even though I have all of the books in this series, this is the first one I have had a chance to read and I have to say that it rocked. Now, I must admit there are some issues that were driving me nuts about it. But, not enough to take away from the story. My attention was caught from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. I will warn you though that if you have issues with rape or gang rape, then you will not want to read this story.

Kane is what one calls a human Omega, which means he is very special to those around him. He has such strong faith and an amazing sense of honor about him. He had stood up to a coach who was nothing more than a bully, and it almost cost him his life. He was rescued by an Alpha and brought back to the Alpha’s home to heal.

Gabriel is the Alpha in Manhattan and has found his mate. A mate that had been brutally raped and beaten by five men. He knows that it will take time to form the bond, because his mate was terrified of being touched. With the help of other Alpha-mates, Kane has a chance to not only heal, but to find true love with a mate that loves him.

Now my only true issues with this is after the rape. Kane is more worried about his papers then acting like a rape victim. But then again, victims never act the same so it didn’t take away from the story at all. Also they were very affectionate, but maybe too affectionate in a way. The Alphas are strong, but they are all wealthy, sweet, caring and powerful wolves. But, there is just something off about them, also.

Also, this story comes off more like being told than actually showing me what it is about. It is also a bit over doing on some spots and too much like other scenes in a way. A.C. Katt’s stories are very unique, complex in parts but is also a bit off.

However although it feels like this, the story to me rocked. My attention never wavered from the story at all. I enjoyed it and can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.

Review: I loved the way this author can put together a book that not only fascinates you, but draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by this amazing author.

When Alan had been eighteen he had found and lost his mate in one night. Fear and anger overtook him to the point that he lost his feelings in one night stands. He had left his home to heal and it leads him to a new life. He had the hots for Thony, but feared he would lose him when Thony had found his mate. So when he was asked for something more, he turned him down not knowing that they were mates.

Thony had known from the start Alan was his mate, but he never said a word feeling that Alan had known. For a couple of years he sits in the background with his heart being shredded, not knowing that Alan had no clue. Miscommunication between these two is a major problem.

It isn’t until Thony was distancing himself that Alan realized he had to take a chance. I bet once he figures it out he will be smacking himself upside the head.

I always did love a good romance that didn’t have the couple falling in love right from the start. I loved how they had to make it work.  It was the perfect story for me and I loved it.

I can’t wait to read the next story.

Reviewer: Gigi

Review: I loved it and I hated it! There is a very strong message in Names Can Never Hurt Me, and for me that was that we can overcome our flaws, we can see our mistakes, learn from them, and improve our behaviors and our lives. Because Nick wasn’t just called names by a bunch of psychotic, incestuous friends, he really was a shallow, clueless superbly flawed character deserving of such labels many times.

I had a hard time relating to the character of Nick. At his age I had finished college, started my career, gotten married and already had one child. I have been very independent my whole life so I could not put myself in Nick’s place.

He’s a grown man living with his parents, his mother still does his laundry and cooks for him. He’s completely unmotivated by anything but meaningless sex. He seems to know he’s hot and that’s about it. I also don’t think Nick ever does figure out what being an adult means, he goes straight from living with his mommy, to living with his boyfriend. Never experiencing living on his own.

I can get on board with RC. He’s living on his own, struggling through life and stereotypes, and overcoming horrible things that have happened to him. I think he totally sold himself short, even after hooking up with Nick, RC deserves better.

Just saying.

There are moments in this story where I just bang my head on the desk and ask the gods why, why would this dialogue ever be included, but then there were moments of humor, passion, and poignant words, too.

The sexual content was purposefully diverse, with the shallow brief encounters leaving me feeling dirty and discarded with a bad taste in my mouth, pun intended. The more tender, slow and sensual experiences between Nick and RC are arousing yes, but also warm the heart.

Names Can Never Hurt Me was a mixed bag for me. The light-hearted, shallow dialogue does not quite outweigh the wonderful poignant moments for me. The two things that saved the story were the characters of RC and Corey. They have strength and conviction, they help others, and they carry the story.

Jack Amber did a great job giving each character a unique voice, and despite the dialogue coming out of some of these characters’ mouths. He delivered the story with complete respect.
