Blurb: Love forged in fire is unassailable.

Fireman Salter Beauman, Beau to his friends, has had his eye on cute Marty Standish ever since he helped rescue Marty and his boss from the bombed out rubble of Temple Church. An analyst for the security services, Marty is cute, geeky and submissive through and through—even if he doesn’t know it yet.

With a serial fire starter making inroads into Beau’s life expectancy, he decides that there is no time to waste and introduces Marty to the D/s lifestyle. Marty responds with wide eyes, an insatiable desire to learn and the ability to turn Beau on with nothing more than a wiggle of his slim hips.

But Beau has a second, far more malevolent admirer. ‘See me dance’ is the message left at a series of increasingly dangerous fires. Beau and Marty must work together to catch a psychotic arsonist before their love goes up in flames. Literally.

Reader Advisory: This book contains a scene that includes sexual abuse.

Review: This is book six in the Tales from the Edge series. Salter Beauman, a firefighter wants Marty Standish. In his pursuit to make him his he realizes that an arsonist is targeting him. I liked Beau’s strong dominant character. He seemed confident and sure of what he wanted. Marty was sweet, geeky and shy/ I loved the Marty’s analytical mind and found it fascinating when he went into details about things I did not know about.

These two set the pages on fire when they got together. The dates were sweet yet demanding at times. Beau is a very kinky man and Marty is just coming into the lifestyle so I was glad that Beau was careful with him. They seemed well matched for each other as Marty had submissive tendencies that he was unsure about.

I really enjoyed the story however I would have liked to have seen more of the mystery portions more in the book than what there was. Most was at the beginning and end with a few small mentions in the middle.

All in all it was a great read.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order. Also coincides with the Angel Pack Series.

One thing I really like about both series is that they are not just about one mating. The reader also gets snippets from the other established matings, as well as other characters who are not yet mated. I like being able to revisit with those already mated and get a sneak peak of future stories to come.

In this book the full truth is finally revealed about why Ryland did what he did with Jesse as a child. Phenex is able to also tell his side of things. I really enjoyed the story about Phenex and Ryland. It was about time they got back together.

I really felt for Ryland. He did what he thought was right with the information he had. Things worked out differently than he hoped, but not due to his fault. That didn’t mean he didn’t feel guilt. Phenex was in no better a spot. They were so mislead. It was good that they were finally able to clear the air and make things right between them.

This book was also showed the evolution of Jesse and Micah. It showed not only Jesse’s growth of power, but also their relationship.
I must say this book was full of hot sex scenes. Not just with Ryland and Phenex, but also Jesse and Micah. These couples are seriously smoking hot with a nice little amount of kink thrown in.

And DAMN, Malachi is one evil bastard, and turns out he is not working alone. Yup, there is another fucktard helping Malachi. I really cannot wait to see what happens to these two when they finally get their asses kicked. Plus there was another little surprise cameo.

I enjoyed this addition to the Angel Pack world and look forward to reading future books. I really want to know what happens with Crew especially.

Review: I really wanted to read this book as soon as I saw the blurb. And I was not disappointed. It was cute and sweet and just damn adorable to read.

Jules is so innocent in life since he has been locked away all his life by his king father. But it turns out not for the reason he always was told. It takes a massive attack for him to be able to finally leave and learn about the world. But he is not alone because his protector Lem is by his side.

Lem is not so innocent, but there was still a hint of it with him. He has only know learning how to be a fighter and guardian of the royals. When he is assigned as Jules new bodyguard Lem slowly falls in love with the little prince.

This was a different type of book from Sean Michael. There was innocence in a lot of it with both characters. The sex was loving and sweet. Even as they explored each other and their feelings they were both learning and figuring things out about themselves.

I really did enjoy this book. It was fast paced and well written. It pulled me into the story and made me cheer the characters on. I couldn’t really ask for more.

Review: Let me just start with: OMFG! This is an excellent book and I quickly realised that it comes down to Mike Warren’s skill with words! Admittedly, this is the first book I’ve read by Mike Warren but it certainly has made me want to read more.

This really isn’t a traditional drama filled romance. Instead, it is something close to a melodrama using a Baptist parish as the backdrop and following six gay men within in the parish, starting from the pastor to a deacon to the organist and the choir master.

So to put it simply, this is not something that I can easily describe and give it the proper justice in a short review. The story features six complex and well-developed characters that go on a roller coaster of emotions and drama. Seriously, it is borderline soap opera only better.

The MCs are: Deacon Marcus Jones – he’s hiding a big that only he and his mother know but he is otherwise, for a great deal of the story, the voice of reason. Then there is Pastor Richard Blackwell – he was suggested for the position of pastor by Marcus after the retirement of the previous pastor. He may be gay, but Richard is living the straight life now, or so he claims.

However, Church Trustee Eric Reid, the son of the previous pastor, feels that he should have taken over the spot of his father. He is basically the main source of drama, if not a background instigator.

Next are the very discreet couple, Tony Wilkes the choir director, and Drew Henderson the church organist. Drew is the level-headed one and not one to allow the moment to run away from him.

Then, finally, there is the trouble maker, 18-year-old Kyle Anderson. His mother is more than a handful and drama queen (I have to admit I worked out her angle pretty quickly). I’d say that Kyle learnt his penchant for drama from his mother, but deep down he just wants the love of a good man, even if he is obsessive about it.

That was my brief run down and the plot follows each of characters as their lives weave together. The characters feel so real that it was so easy to picture the entire book as I read it. They are very human, very flawed but in the end just get on with life. Being an Aussie, it also gave me a clear understanding of many cultural things that I’ve seen in movies/TV but never actually understood. I really like that.

And the end! OMG! I really hope that Mike is working on a sequel because that had my heart in my throat and I just want to know what happens next!

I loved this book so much that I’m simply going to recommend it to everyone.

I could rave about this some more but I won’t, I don’t want to give any spoilers to this never-ending drama!

Review: This book is a collection of the three novellas which make up Alex Carreras’ Sangre Series. It makes perfect sense that this series was released in the one volume since the stories are tightly connected together, so much so that it could almost be read as one story. Luckily, since this is the one volume, there is no need to worry that you are reading the books in the right order, something that is essential for the Sangre series.

The stories themselves are all interesting and enjoyable, though something I noticed with all three is that the action seemed to be glossed over a bit. However, the characters themselves are all enjoyable and you can really see their development. For me, it was the six MCs that made the stories for me rather than the actual plot line. The attraction between the guys was hot, but this too sometimes felt like it was being glossed over.

Firstly, in Buzz & Blow, we are introduced to the town Sangre in Florida and the vampires that work at the hairdressers, Everlasting. Their rival across the street is the rougher, vampire-run barber shop, Killer Kuts. Asher from Everlasting meets the dark and mysterious Niko from Killer Kuts. They find themselves surrounded by the mystery of solving who the vampire is that is killing humans and in the process drag their friend from Everlasting and Killer Kuts along with them.

Then we go to Shave & Shimmer, where Tory from Everlasting and Ray, new to Killer Kuts (spotting the trend here?) meet under the watchful match-making eye of Tory’s friend from the first book, Asher. Ray has some baggage from his past. He has mourned the death of his lover and sire for over a hundred and fifty years.

Tory on the other hand is essentially a ray of sunshine, pun intended although unfortunately this description of the character does not always come across. As well as facing Ray’s past, there is an underlying current of trouble spilling over from the first book.

Then we end with Fade & Fluff, where the owners of Everlasting, Jerrod, and Killer Kuts, Kaidron, meet up but not for the first time. These guys have a long history together. They are ex-lovers. We find that out quite quickly in the first story. Unfortunately, I just don’t think there was enough emphasis on their past and what exactly went wrong for the guys. This story is about tying up the loose ends of the first two books as well as getting the ex-lovers to work out their differences.

Once again, I think the danger that the six MCs are facing needed more (though I’m not entirely sure what, I can’t put my finger on it).

Overall it was enjoyable and you do really need to read all three to get complete satisfaction from the overarching plot.

Review: Good Question by Dawn Kimberley Johnson is book 1 of the Q&A series. This series needs to be read in sequential order. Over all, Good Question was a really pleasing and enjoyable read.

The story follows Jamison and Lonnie. Jamison has had to work hard since the death of his father when he was ten years old. He hasn’t told anyone he’s gay. He prefers to simply keep his head down, working for a home renovation company and on the side being a carpenter for the fun of it.

Lonnie is completely different. He is out and proud, and while he certainly does work hard, he is working towards obtaining his master’s in fine arts. Their worlds collide when Lonnie and Jamison meet at Lonnie’s twin sister’s home, which is being renovated for the upcoming birth of Lonnie’s nephew/niece.

It’s a pretty sweet and simple plot. Not only is this book a sort of coming out of the closet type of caper, it is also a wrong side vs. right side of the tracks type of thing. The basis of all the major and minor character are pretty strong, too, with some likable and, of course, some less so.

However, I have to say the one thing that did let things down for me is that the characters didn’t seem to move along enough at time. But that is a minor flaw since this is such an easy read and I was finished in no time. The sweetness between Lonnie and Jamison also more than makes up for any flaws. These guys are great together and have wonderful chemistry.

Recommended to just about anyone and I can’t wait to read the sequel!

Review: I have a soft spot for a geeky romance. And let me clarify, this is geeky in the fact that the main character is works developing apps and writing code. I only know enough of Linux to get what I need done, so any talk of computer languages and coding is enough for me to think that this is a geeky character who knows his thing.

This is a fun story and more of a journey of self discovery, leading to romance, for program coder Larry.

Larry is damn good at what he does, so much so he attracts the attention of one of his clients as well as someone he met at a coffee shop who was also interested in his expertise. Larry is extremely tall and so feels unattractive, unsexy and generally like a bean-pole that no man will ever want in bed. His character is really well written and easily identified with. I would think that many people would relate to him on some level or another. After all, we all feel at one time invisible to the objects of our desire.

Larry has two “suitors”, Julian, the guy from the coffee shop, and Victor, the rich client who has a very attractive, if sleazy, personality. It seems pretty clear is the best guy for Larry is, ultimately Julian. However, in the end it is up to Neil Plakcy’s creation, Larry, to work out what’s going on.

I also enjoyed the numerous other secondary characters, most of which are Larry’s work colleagues. Of all the characters introduced, I would say that Victor is the least fleshed out. Sometimes he left me rather confused. I suppose that was partially the purpose of his character so in the end he works well with the story.

However, this isn’t just a story about a couple of nerds, even if one or more are stinking rich. This is just really a story about a guy who is trying to balance his sudden romantic life with his professional and personal lives.

In the end, that is what makes these guys, especially Larry, so real. He’s just a guy trying to live his life, afraid he is going to screw up somewhere, which is undoubtedly going to happen regardless (or because of) of his caution.

Review: This is a new author for me, but I must admit that it was pretty damn good. There were a few issues that I found but not enough to disappoint me.

Phillip had been once married to a woman and had two kids. When they divorced she ran with the children. To me the bitch should be shot that is for sure. I couldn’t imagine what he was going through, while searching for them He spends six long years looking, but hasn’t given up. His brother has told him, that he needs to continue living.

However who would stand beside him during these times.

He meets Vance and the attraction is there. However he has to come to terms that he needs to tell him what is going on. Vance is pretty damn hot let me tell you. He puts up with Phillips jealousy and attitude when most would say to hell with it. However with everything that has happened, I suppose we should give the man some slack.

The problem I had with it was the fact that the kids were too easy-going with what has happened and the way life is now. It just comes off as a bit strange to me. I don’t know what to say without giving the story away, so I must say you have to read this book.

It was not my type of story, so I would probably not being putting it on my favorite list but it is a pretty damn good story. The guilt one feels when life must go on, but part of you is still missing is felt throughout. It has a lot of twists to the story that will keep your attention. I had fun with it and would recommend it.

Review: I must admit that this is the first book that I have read by this author and I was fascinated with the story. It definitely was not my kind of story though. The title caught my attention from the start, then the cover intrigued me even though it freaked me out a bit. I had not even glanced at the blurb when I picked the story.

I must admit though that this book was not what I expected. It was a bit off to me, or should I say weird. Jeremy is the one that made the book basically. He is getting tired of life in the city, so what does he decides to move to the forest. Yeah like that is going to make life better. He has a long journey ahead of him that is for sure.

Brian is supposed to be a different type of character in the book, but he is the one that Jeremy wants to be like. Or maybe that is my opinion. It has a nice twist to it when it comes to characters. I was a bit confused but for me that is normal. It also made the book a bit intriguing.

It was about a young man coming to age and how they handle certain aspects of their lives. For this type of story though, the plot just seemed to work perfectly. For me I was captivated in a way that doesn’t really work for me though.

I am not much for young adult stories and coming of age. So I was not as into it as I should have been. The story itself is well written, with plenty of depth and hidden gifts to a reader. I however was a bit disappointed in the fact that it was not my type of story.

I would definitely recommend it to others though.

Knowing he will need alliances to keep his pack together, Mikael requests a congress with the nearby Evergreen pack and meets Denton Arguson, Evergreen alpha, to ask for his help. Fate has a strange twist for both of them, though, and Mikael and Denton soon realize they’re destined mates.

Denton resists the pull between them—he has his own pack and his own responsibilities. But Mikael isn’t willing to give up. The Mother has promised Mikael his mate, told him he must fight for him, and that only together can they defeat the coming darkness. When Anton casts his sights on Denton’s pack, attacks and sabotage follow, pulling Denton and Mikael together to defeat a common enemy.

But Anton’s threats sow seeds of destruction enough to break any bond, and the mates’ determination to challenge the darkness may be their only saving grace.

Review: Mikael Volokov is the Alpha of the Yellowstone pack. He’s strong, fierce and commanding. Mikael doesn’t tolerate dissention or anyone questioning his authority, it’s why his pack is so strong and united.

That being said, he’s not a brutal bastard, unless you go after something or someone he holds dear. He listens to his pack, considers their concerns and does everything possible to ensure their safety and happiness. When he’s called to witness a challenge and winds up witnessing something more dark and sinister than expected, he lands in the crosshairs of that darkness.

Denton Arguson is the Alpha of the neighboring pack, Evergreen. He is nearly as fierce as Mikael and definitely as loyal to his pack. When the two realize they are fated mates, Mikael couldn’t be happier. He’s dreamed about his mate since he was a boy, but Denton is less than pleased. He fights the bond and tries to ignore the connection he has with Mikael, but fate won’t be ignored. It will take a lot of patience, understanding and communication if these two are going to fulfill the destiny that was created for them before they were even born.

I have to say, I knew this was going to be a good book, I love everything from this Author. I was literally blown away by how good it was though. Greyson took the mythology that circles shifters and tweaked it just enough to give us something fresh and new.

I loved the references to the Mother and giving things back to the earth so they would be rewarded in return. ‘As ye sow so shall ye reap’ is the moto these wolves live by. But everything in life has to have balance. Where there is light, there is darkness, and when the darkness tries to destroy the land, the packs, and most of all, the wolves spirits, it will take a lot of love, life and trust to defeat it.

A must read for shifter fans, but there is also the added element of what almost reads as earth magic in this story. The relationship between Mikael and Denton is electric, passionate and turbulent. After all, they are both Alphas and while the world Greyson has created doesn’t even blink an eye at two men being mates, two Alphas being mated is unheard of. They have to find their balance as well not only to defeat the darkness, but to find their happiness.

Wonderful story, the flow and pace is perfect and kept me enthralled from beginning to end, and I cannot wait to see where this new series will take several wolves in particular with more books down the road.

Review: This is the first book that I have read by these two authors and I must admit that I was shocked and amazed. Although I might not have picked it, because it definitely was not a book that I would have chosen at any other time. I would have regretted it though.

I was amazed at how well the story just seemed to flow as well as being well paced and exciting. Thierry had been set up to take the fall for a crime he had not committed. His commanding officer was a definite ass. Ducaine definitely had it in for him. He asked for one thing and that was for a Priest to come in. I don’t think he had expected Father Ryan Flynn.

If it wasn’t for his foster brother Orrin, he might have said no. Orrin had requested him to talk to this particular prisoner. They see each other and damn there is heat that is for sure. There are a lot of kinky men in this book.

Then there was Jay, who is just a sweet kid living in a world of drug dealers. He is madly in love with Orrin, who is in love with Ryan. It is a bit complicated. Then there are the D’s who just make you want to smile or laugh.

The problem I had with it was the fact that Ryan was a priest. It just comes off very wrong for me. I can see hiding in the closet, but not the priest part. It just makes it sick to me, and made me feel like the author was throwing it in gods face. Which is saying something from me, because I am a definite non-believer. Other than that little problem, all I can say is damn.

Murder, cross-dressing, ass spanking, suspense, action and some damn kinky sex is one aspect you get from this book. For such a long book, it keeps your mind occupied. In fact once I started reading, I couldn’t put the damn book down.

Other than wanting to kick one of their sexy asses throughout most of the books, there is so much to say about these guys. You will cry throughout the book and probably laugh at some parts of it. I must say that this has been a great book to add to my library

. Even though I couldn’t stand the religious parts, the fact that he was a priest, or all of the words used it was a great book. I had a great time reading it and look forward to seeing what else these authors have out.

Blurb: A drifter since his teens, Jimmy Dorsett has no home and no hope. What he does have is a duffel bag, a lot of stories, and a junker car. Then one cold desert night he picks up a hitchhiker and ends up with something more: a letter from a dying man to the son he hasn’t seen in years.

On a quest to deliver the letter, Jimmy travels to Rattlesnake, a small town nestled in the foothills of the California Sierras. The centerpiece of the town is the Rattlesnake Inn, where the bartender is handsome former cowboy Shane Little. Sparks fly, and when Jimmy’s car gives up the ghost, Shane gets him a job as handyman at the inn.

Both within the community of Rattlesnake and in Shane’s arms, Jimmy finds an unaccustomed peace. But it can’t be a lasting thing. The open road continues to call, and surely Shane—a strong, proud man with a painful past and a difficult present—deserves better than a lying vagabond who can’t stay put for long.

Review: The first line has you hooked… It started with a dead man… all the way to the very last line. I couldn’t put it down.

Jimmy Dorset lives on the road. He travels as far as his clunker car will take him, stays until he has enough money to get on the road again. He is never in one place long enough to make a home or life. He feels no one wants him or needs him. Then one day he picks up an old hitchhiker that wants to go to Rattlesnake to try to make amends with his son. When Tom dies Jimmy sees so much in him he decides to deliver Tom’s letter in person to Shane Little.

Shane is a bartender of the Rattlesnake Saloon in his Aunts motel. Shane has his own story though very different from Jimmy’s they are two souls meant for each other.

Jimmy had no idea picking up a lonely, cold hitchhiker would change his life so drastically.

This book gave me chills from opening till I finally finished it (in one sitting). It is such a poignant story. Powerful with some soft undertones and I found it very romantic as well.

I adored both characters. Jimmy the loner–I still loved him and felt so deeply for him. Who couldn’t love Shane? He is the town’s sweetheart. Everyone loves him and is protective of him, even though he isn’t perfect either. I think I loved most the fact these two characters are not perfect in any way. Not looks or personality.

Though Jimmy fights his feelings tooth and nail, sometimes fate is stronger than your own will. I will admit I shed a few tears along the way. This book is in my favorite list of this year as long as Jimmy and Shane.

If you love modern stories set in old-west towns, broken men, some angst, romance, and some moderate, sensual, mansex this is definitely for you.

I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good M/M romance and something a little different.
