Blurb: The path to happiness isn’t always the easiest.

Chance Becket’s life was mapped out. He’d one day own the ranch he grew up on, have a family, and be the son he was raised to be, like all good boys in Small Town, U.S.A.

When his high school sweetheart calls for a break during her last semester of college, the last place Chance thought he’d end up was in his old friend Bradley’s bed.

Bradley Heart blasted out of the closet before his family could name him heir apparent to his father’s church. After six years away, a job layoff has him coming home to work behind the scenes. He and his father have little interaction and he’s fine with it staying that way when he returns home. Going back into the closet, for any reason, is not on his list of things to do. But Chance may prove too much a temptation, especially with the simmering feelings they’ve had for one another since they were teens.

Confused over his sexuality, Chance has to decide what’s more important — loyalty to his family and the path set forth, or the promise of happiness with not just the only man, but also the only person, he’s ever really wanted.

Includes a very toppy accountant, a cowboy who’d rather be in the kitchen, porn positions, some spanking, and absolutely zero religion other than worshipping… You know.

Review: Bradley Heart hasn’t had the best run of luck lately. His ex boyfriend is tool and to make matters worse, he finds out he’s getting laid off. So when he walks into the local gay bar and finds his child hood friend and long time crush, Chance Becket awkwardly holding up the bar, it’s truly the perfect ending to a horrid day. Bradley is a quite a bossy top, and he bosses Chance right into his bed before Chance has a… well, a chance to turn away.

Chance has always felt different from most guys his age, and his supposed girl friend really isn’t much more than a girl who is a friend. He is completely out of his element at the bar, and even more so when Bradley Heart shows up and drags his butt home. And while Chance is confused by his feelings for Bradley, his struggle with his sexuality and the fear of coming out to his family and friends, everything just feels right when he is with Bradley.

Bradley waves his pride flag strong and true, Chance however, uses his flag to hold his closet door shut. While Bradley tries very hard to be supportive and give Chance the time to acclimate not only to his feelings for Bradley but the thought of coming out, he is also afraid to give Chance the opportunity to hurt him. Communication and trust will have to be refined and practiced if these two stands a chance at making it long-term.

I absolutely loved the countrified side of this story. Chance is really just a good ole boy at heart and while he made some mistakes along the way, I always felt like he was on point with how his struggle with family, friends, Bradley, and his sexuality played out.

Bradley made me a little crazy sometimes, he was right at the point of domineering, but, but, but, I’m certain that is how he was intended to be portrayed so kudos to Boehme for conveying both these strong personalities. There were several typos and a couple of times the scene or scenario that was playing out didn’t ring true for me in the context of the story as a whole.

But overall, I really liked this story. It was very much a Beverly meets hillbilly romance complete with a very toppy dominate that likes things a certain way, and an uncertain but loyal bottom that has a boot fetish!

Review: Anderson Williams life changes drastically overnight. He arrives for his weekly dinner date with his father and finds him dead, and then Anderson’s home as well is broken into and trashed. In the middle of all the madness, he meets the detective in charge of finding his father’s killer, Leo Sung Kim. As fate would have it these two men have a few things in common. They are both gay and they both loved Jazmon Williams as a father.

When Leo was a teenager he was headed down the wrong path, until Jazmon helped him get right and became a father figure to the then troubled teen. Now he’s a successful detective trying to solve the murder of the man who gave him a second chance in life. At first Leo and his partner Daniel, as well as most people involved in the case, believe the killer has targeted the Williams family. But when they find another body and it’s someone from Leo’s past, not the Williams, they figure out the killer is trying to get Leo’s attention.

In the middle of all the insanity, Leo and Anderson succumb to their mutual attraction which is not without its ups and downs either. The stress of the case and Leo fearing for Anderson’s safety bleeds over into their personal relationship and causes a rift between them. Just enough of a rift to put Anderson in the killer’s path. Now Leo has to uncover exactly who the killer is and get Anderson back before he becomes the next victim.

As the relationship between Leo and Anderson had its ups and downs, so did the book. I figured out very early on who the killer was and why he was doing it, so when that aspect of the story was unveiled, I wasn’t surprised as I would have liked to have been. And Leo didn’t really do any detective work on the case so much. He read more like a body-guard, hell-bent on protecting those he loved. The relationships in the story though, between lovers and families and friends, those were well thought out and written.

I loved how Anderson and Leo just fit well together and each of them had a friend they could talk to and those secondary characters added to the storyline progression as well, they weren’t just fluff.

Overall the story kept me engaged throughout, to spite I could see certain things coming a mile away. Duchene writes some of the best reality based stories with flawed characters and in-depth storylines. I really enjoyed her attention to the littlest details in this story that surrounded the mystery, the killer’s machinations and the character development along the way. So, while there were a few speed bumps along the way, overall I really enjoyed the rid with Leo and Anderson.

I think fans of Duchene’s work will love this book regardless. It has her fingerprints all over it. Readers that like thrillers, hard-fought for happy ever afters and opposites attract will like this book as well.

Blurb: Gabe Martin has a simple life plan: get into the NHL and win the Stanley Cup. It doesn’t include being the first out hockey player or, worse, getting involved with one of his teammates. But things change.

Dante Baltierra is Gabe’s polar opposite—careless, reckless… shameless. But his dedication to the sport is impressive, and Gabe can overlook a lot of young-and-stupid in the name of great hockey. And Dante has a superlative ass in a sport filled with superlative asses.

Before Gabe can figure out how to deal, a tabloid throws him out of his comfortable closet into a brand-new world. Amid the emotional turmoil of invasive questions, nasty speculation, and on- and off-ice homophobia, his game suffers.

Surprisingly, it’s Dante who drags him out of it—and then drags him into something else. Nothing good can come of secretly sleeping with a teammate. Especially one Gabe has feelings for. But with their captain out with an injury, a rookie in perpetual need of a hug, and the race to make the playoffs for the first time since 1995, Gabe has a lot on his plate.

He can’t be blamed for forgetting that nothing stays secret forever.

Review: ‘Winging It’ is my third read from this writing duo. Great storyline, great attention to detail, an all-around good read – When Ashlyn Kane and Morgan James collaborate, good things happen. I enjoyed this book and all of its characters from start to finish. Adorable, funny Dante and quiet, introverted Gabe are proof positive that opposites attract.

Once they worked out their on-ice kinks, they had such an easy camaraderie. I smiled as Dante became Gabe’s new best buddy, laughed at their on and off the ice antics and commiserated with Banksy as he secretly (or not so secretly) yearned for Baller’s apparently awesome butt. Dante became the great-straight friend; through thick and thin. Baller had Banksy’s (ye gods, what horrible nicknames) back for sure.

Centered on a predominantly heterosexual world of athletes, Baller and Banksy came across as real and true. They were well written with legitimate conflicts; their relationship and issues were portrayed honestly, sometimes painfully so. What’s more, they were hot as hell together. The scenes in which Dante came to terms with his sexuality and the two of them got it on were nothing short of steamy.

The hockey glossary and fun facts at the end were pretty cool, though the writing was comprehensive enough that I didn’t need to use it. Kudos to Kane and James for accomplishing the feat of writing a detailed sports book that a newbie could enjoy quite easily.

I loved the news clips and interviews throughout the book. An effective timeline, they were an ongoing update of NHL events surrounding Dante, Gabe and their team. Current and fast paced, they highlighted the fact that though there was a hot and steamy romance going on, hockey season was in effect and there were games to be won.

Though Baller and Banksy sometimes tried my patience, rooting for them was never a problem. Ashlyn Kane and Morgan James have made that pretty easy. They’ve also made it easy for me to rate this one with four well deserved hearts; hopefully I’ve made it easy for you to one-click this entertaining and diverse read.

One last piece of business – If there’s a picture of the posterior that inspired Dante’s, please do send it our way. I’m quite sure all of us at MM Good Book Reviews would be happy to review it, objectively of course. Thank you kindly, for this delightful 4 Heart read, and hopefully for Baller’s butt.

Review: This is the second book in this series, but the ripples are pretty much a cut off from the Lone Wolf series. I would recommend reading these books in order. This story has a mixture of feelings to it, but most of the time it is a bit hard to decipher. It has a touch of humor in it, but more seriousness. I love how you can feel the love that these men have, but it takes a bit of time to get there.

Now Luther is an alpha for his pack, but to me he doesn’t come off as one. He wants his mate but doesn’t really want to approach him for reasons. However he continues, by sending him roses and letters. Letters that tell the story to Owen. The thing is Owen is human and has no idea that werewolves even exist.

These little stories come off more of just a taste, but I want more in depths stories. I did have a blast reading it though. It was fun to get into.

I would recommend reading it, especially if you love gorgeous men, sexy werewolves, and the fun part of male pregnancy, a touch of desire and lust and a bit of pain. It did not give me all that I need though. I want some danger and excitement, a little bit of suspense in my stories.

However in all, I loved it.

Review: This is a feisty little love story that heats up to a boil. I must admit that for me it was missing something major for me to truly love. I can see people meet like this and moving this fast but for me this just doesn’t sound plausible. I did however enjoy it.

Saber just wanted to meet the special man for him. While on vacation he sees a man that makes him hot and bothered. Moses is also on vacation but was getting over a broken relationship and a crazy ass sister. They both said he was overweight and needed to lose it. What he had not expected was to find the man of his dreams. A man who loves him for himself.

I had a blast reading this although I wished there was more to it. It has more humor in it than most. Although it was a short and sexy little story, I can’t see how within one week they are in love and going forward. It just seems way too fast for me. It did not deflect the story though. I got a kick out of the guys and look forward to reading more by this author.

I would definitely recommend reading it.

Review: Each book in Of Dragons and Wolves collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. There is nothing better than a good paranormal romance with two gorgeous men involved. I love the way Marcy Jacks can put together a book that not only fascinates you but draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by Marcy.

There is something about the way that Marcy tells a story that will not only draw you in and keep your attention the whole time, but it will more than likely have you laughing your ass off. The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. They will protect their mates with their entire lives. I had a blast reading this story. This story is perfect for when you are trying to take a break.

Trystan was a cute little omega wolf who had the hots for a certain dragon. To him the dragon never noticed him. It wasn’t until the alpha’s snuck in, and kidnaped him and several other omegas. He was afraid no one was coming to save them. So he offered himself to Clyde. Clyde had agreed that if he mated with him, he would send the other omegas back to the dragons. However his dragon had other ideas.

Cailean was in love with Trystan and when he was kidnaped he was going to take out those damn wolves. He would protect what is his, even if Trystan doesn’t know it yet. He was the first one that jumped at getting the omega’s home, but he sure had a stake in it. His little sexy mate was going to find out just how much he is in fact wanted and loved.

Now the hot sex begins.

I absolutely love this book almost as much as I have loved the others in this series. In fact I think that this one I love more than the others. It is because for the first time there was no fighting the mating as the others did. Cailean was in love with the wolf and had been for a while, even if he did realize it at first. He doesn’t seem to be as dominating as the others either.

I can’t wait to read the next story. When Marcy puts out a book I am usually there to eat them up. They do have a bit of a serious tone to them but there is a lot of humor in them that I love. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a book. I would definitely recommend reading this book. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

Review: Quinn is in witness protection after his crazy stalker ex tries to kill him twice. He moves to the moon and gets a new job hoping he’s seen the last of his ex. What he doesn’t expect is the sexy bear of a man as his boss.

Was blown away by this well written story. Intense details about the crazy stalker ex and how he attacks Quinn. Lyon is a ferocious sexy bear of a man who is bent on protecting what is his. I did wonder what exactly happened to the ex though. Loved the entire book.

Highly recommended.
