Blurb: Keely James adores his lover more than life itself.

They have been together for almost five years despite the fact that Dominic won’t publicly acknowledge their relationship. Lately it seems like Dominic doesn’t have the time to spend with Keely. The tabloids say Dominic is due to get married any day…to someone else. Green with jealousy, Keely tries to hold it together while giving his lover the space he seems to need.

But when tragedy strikes, Keely needs Dominic more than ever. When the man won’t even return his phone calls, Keely knows he’s been forgotten.

Dominic Loudan adores his lover. He just wishes Keely wasn’t quite so clingy. Every second away from the man he loves is spent building a life for the two of them. He’s weeks away from turning his company into a multi-million dollar corporation and he needs just a little more time without Keely asking him to come home.

When he does finally give in and come home, Dominic finds his world crumbling down around his ears and he has to decide what is more important to him—the world he is trying to build or the man that he is building that world for.

Review: This is a revised and expanded story. It has been expanded by over fifteen thousand words. This book was fantastic before it was expanded and revised, but now it is perfect. Well not perfect because I wanted to see them make it all better. To get to see them make up, then how Dom does prove that he is there to stay. You can tell when a book is written with the author’s heart in it and this is one of them. It is so loving and tender-hearted that drew me to it and kept my attention the whole time.

Keely and Dom have been together for close to five years now, but Keely was afraid that it was over. He only wanted Dom to spend more time with him, but he doesn’t understand that Dom is just trying to make things good for him. However in his favor is that Dom is not realizing that by working so much for one thing, he was forgetting that he was not living for his love.

He didn’t understand that even though they had a home and a life together, there was not much point if you were not both there. Then he finds out that there are two out there that are trying to destroy their lives together. He come home to find his beloved gone.

So when a tragic accident happens, Dom is rushing to the man he loves. Now if only he can show Keely that he is indeed the one he loves.

I absolutely love this book almost as much as I have loved the others in this series. I can’t wait to read the next story. When Stormy puts out a book, I am usually there to eat them up. They do have a bit of a serious tone to them but you can feel all of the feelings with this story. You can feel how much these two men love each other, but that their communication really sucks.

Keely just wants the man he loves, and Dom just wants to give him everything. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a book.

I would definitely recommend reading this book. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving, and having fun.

Cole Renzo thinks his greatest challenge is to behave for the remainder of his term at Halfway House. Until he meets his new boss, Ty Calloway, a man who ticks off every box on Cole’s list of interests.

A sought-after restorer and customizer of exotic and collectible cars, Ty had enough confidence to command what he wanted in life, until one fateful night changed everything. Almost two years later, he’s slowly rebuilding his life with great control. He’s defied the odds and works tirelessly to be the man he once was—but he still feels broken.

Cole’s candor and unfiltered personality awaken Ty’s barely-remembered desire to greet each new day with a smile, while Ty’s unwavering acceptance of Cole’s quirks and brash humor makes Cole feel as if he fits in for the first time in far too long. When a nemesis threatens Ty’s personal restoration and the things he holds dear, Cole is determined to protect their relationship, even if that means sacrificing everything he’s worked so hard to achieve.

But Ty will have to let his guard down, surrender control, and admit he needs Cole first, even if that puts himself at risk of breaking beyond repair.

 A Shot of J&B

(Vasquez Security: The Next Generation 01)
 by

Lou Sylvre

Six years ago, Brian Harrison helped save the life of Jackie Vasquez, and he’s never really forgotten him. After the rescue, Brian ended his employment with Jackie’s uncle Luki and left the US for England, aiming to distance himself from the confused feelings—not lust, but not brotherly—that then sixteen-year-old Jackie engendered. Now Jackie has become a man, and when they meet again by chance, lust with a dose of D/s rope kink is definitely on the list of possibilities. As they get to know each other, though, lust shows every sign of growing into love, deep and true.

When Jackie moves to London for graduate studies in criminal psychology, he and Brian hope they’ll be able to enjoy each other’s frequent company. But they haven’t factored in the claim Brian’s police job with Scotland Yard will make on his time, especially when the “Gaslighter crimes” sap investigative resources. An abandoned aide dog named Soldier leads to a breakthrough clue, and a chain of discoveries fall like dominoes. As Brian rushes to beat the criminal’s game before it escalates to true terror, he comes to an undeniable conclusion: Jackie Vasquez, the man he loves, is in mortal danger.

Blurb: If you stop running, you fall.

Jonah Pastern is a magician, a liar, a windwalker, a professional thief…and for six months, he was the love of police constable Ben Spenser’s life. Until his betrayal left Ben jailed, ruined, alone, and looking for revenge.

Ben is determined to make Jonah pay. But he can’t seem to forget what they once shared, and Jonah refuses to let him. Soon Ben is entangled in Jonah’s chaotic existence all over again, and they’re running together—from the police, the justiciary, and some dangerous people with a lethal grudge against them.

Threatened on all sides by betrayals, secrets, and the laws of the land, can they find a way to live and love before the past catches up with them?

This story is set in the world of the Charm of Magpies series.
Warning: Contains a policeman who should know better, a thief who may never learn, Victorian morals, heated encounters, and a very annoyed Stephen Day.

Review: A great little side story from the Charm of Magpies world. I do feel that having read the Charm of Magpies series, I have a better understanding of the anger both Ben and Steven Day harbor towards Jonah. He did some very bad things, and the challenge here is for the author to convince us readers to forgive him too.

The story flashes back and forth from present to past in Jonah and Ben’s affaire. We’re walked through both the passions of love and hatred in one relationship. Through all of the lies, deceit, and mistrust, we are brought through stages of grief. Grief Ben has at not only losing his job, his freedom for a time, his self-respect, but whether he wants to admit it or not, his love and life with Jonah. We see shock, denial, anger, resentment, pain, sorrow, regret, and almost the point where Ben wants to give up on everything just to stop feeling the loss of it all.

At this point, I’m angry with Jonah and so confused, at a loss as to how the writer will convince me that there is hope….but hold on to it!

Now to a couple of my favorite characters from Charm of Magpies…Steven and Lord Crane. In Jackdaw, we really get to see Steven in all his strength and glory, and he’s damn mad, for good reason! I actually felt a bit of sympathy and awe for Lord Crane, knowing he has to reel all that strength, determination, and anger from his partner in!

Steven’s ready to hobble Jonah, lock him away, and throw away the key. Lord Crane seems to hold Day back, along with his own judgment.

Will Jonah be able to reconstruct himself and show Ben his actions are forgivable? Can an old thief turn a new page? Running from authorities and a life sentence of sorts, will Jonah even get the chance?

The answer is yes, of course, there is a HEA, but we’re given time and reflection to see all the healing happen between all parties involved. It’s a big pill to swallow, but Ben manages forgiveness, the question is will Jonah now live a life of the honest working man, or fall back on his thieving and dishonest ways of survival?

So much content is packed into this great little book! There is magic and paranormal of course, but not quite on the scale we see in Charm of Magpies, still very attention grabbing though! Bravo K. J Charles! You’ve cast a spell of enchantment over your readers again!
