Blurb: An unregistered human con wizard and a duty-bound, straight-laced elf cop. As New York explodes with dangerous creatures, their passion goes nuclear.

After a terrible magical accident at Berkeley created unpredictable holes between realities, all manner of non-human creatures started popping into our world. These displacements, called Random Anomalous Reality Events or RARE, have taken magic out of fiction and relocated it firmly in reality, resulting in a great deal of chaos and confusion.

Displaced elf Valerian works with AURA, the Agency of Unnatural Resettlement and Assimilation, to intercept these beings as they appear in the human world, helping the peaceful ones and subduing the violent, malevolent ones. It’s good, satisfying work, and Val would be happy if he wasn’t so lonely.

Quinten is a young mage just trying to get by, but New York isn’t the easiest city to make a living in. If his methods are sometimes morally dubious, his heart is still in the right place. Of course, for Quinn, the right place means firmly locked away, protected at all costs. Living by his wits and sometimes magically induced luck, he works as a ‘freelance magic user’, or unregistered mage and small-time con, according to the authorities.

The last thing Quinn wants is to draw the cops’ attention, but when an Event happens right on top of him, he’s forced to turn to AURA for help. Valerian isn’t at all what he’d expected in an AURA cop, and he certainly wasn’t expecting to join forces with the sexy elf, a snarky drow, and a bitter incubus, when certain individuals in power try to stop the RARE by any means necessary.

Things are not all what they seem at AURA headquarters, and a greater evil lurks at the top than anyone could have imagined.

Review: This is book one in the AURA series.
Quinten is a small time con. It’s not the best living but he does what he must to survive. Quinn has not had the easiest life. Becoming the ward of the state at a young age he finally run away. On the streets he met a man who taught him how to pickpocket and use magic.

When Quinn made a mistake, the man turned on him, raped him, and allowed others to do the same for a price. This has led Quinn to keep people out and close himself off.
Valerian is a misplaced elf who was pulled through one of the events. The human world is strange to him and also lonely. But he has made a life for himself as an AURA officer.

When he first meets Quinn, he is immediately drawn to him. However, Quinn and his issues make it hard for Val to get close to him. Than all hell breaks, loose and it’s a matter of finding the will to stay alive.

The push and pull Quinn had going on with Val was annoying at times, but also when it was explained about his past it also becomes more understandable. I really felt bad for Val. He is not human, so many things humans just for granted he just does not understand. However once they do finally get their act together, they are pretty intense and sensual together.

The world that was created is very lush and well described. There are so many amazing beings and creatures. The MCs as well as the secondary characters are well thought out. The story was fast paced and kept my attention. The interactions between all the characters were interesting at times and pretty funny at others.

There was a lot of information given about the people and the world, but it was never too much to take away from the story and bog it down. Something I very much appreciated.

Overall, this was a very entertaining book. I enjoyed the world created and look forward to reading more about it. Since this is billed as a series, I cannot wait for the next book.

Review: Kit Britten is the proverbial rich kid. He lives off mommy and daddy’s dime, in an apartment owned by their corporation, driving the car they gave him for his birthday, and having his groceries delivered by the local supermarket. He fears if he ever told them the truth about his sexuality that they would not only cut him off, but also cut them out of their lives. Everything changes when he meets Romy.

Romy O’Keefe is a mechanic that owns his own small shop, lives in a trailer out back, and still supports his mom and little brother. His life and livelihood are at the opposite end of the spectrum from Kit’s. There is something about the surprisingly unspoiled rich kid that quickly gets under Romy’s skin, and soon the two are dating. When dinner at the Britten manner reveals the truth about Kit and Romy’s relationship, Kit’s worse fears are realized as he and Romy go from boyfriends to roommates overnight.

It’s not all sunshine and roses though. Kit has to let go of a lifestyle he has become accustomed to and Romy has to give up a little bit of his independence when Kit moves in. Loving each other is never an issue, but trust and communication doesn’t come quite as easy for two guys that are using to living on their own.

This was just a fast, fun read about the joys of young love. Both men have secrets and they’ve come from vastly different backgrounds, so you spend a good deal of the story trying to figure out if their love for each other will be enough to make them fight for the rest. The writing was youthful and fresh and I thoroughly enjoyed to storyline and the character development.

I haven’t listened to a reading by Peter Brooke before and for the most part, he did a great job. In the beginning, the changes in tone, inflection, and nuances were too subtle. But as the story progressed, Brooke really found his footing and I especially loved the rough around the edges tone he chose to use for Romy.

A great listen for anyone that likes stories for hopeless romantics that are well written and well conveyed.

Review: This was not what I had expected. It was a pretty good book, if not long enough. I would have loved for it to be expanded and had a lot more to it. As it was, I actually found myself liking it quite a bit. I had some minor issues with it, but it wasn’t enough for me to not get into it. It gave me most of what I wanted in a good paranormal book.
Dario and Zach had met over ten years ago when Dario tried to kill him. Zach is a vampire hunter and a cop, where as Dario is the vampire and activist.

They seem to be fighting for the same thing, but when they hook up it is like fighting with sex. It has some kink to it that is for sure. They are in search of a killer, who has their sights set on Zach. It is up to Dario to save him, or maybe the other way around in the end.

It gives you excitement, kinky sex, danger, and a very strange story altogether. I would recommend reading it. It is a cute little book that will be great for when you are on a break or you just want to read a short story for fun.

Review: Each book in Hounds of Hell collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. There is nothing better than a good paranormal romance with two gorgeous men involved. I love the way Flynn can put together a book that not only fascinates you but also draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by Flynn.

There is something about the way that Flynn tells a story that will not only draw you in and keep your attention the whole time, but it will more than likely have you laughing your ass off. The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. They will protect their mates with their entire lives. I had a blast reading this story. The only real problem I have is that it is not long enough. I want a book that will keep my attention for hours on end. This story is perfect for when you are trying to take a break.

When someone has been hurt whether physical, mental or emotional it is hard to learn how to forgive. Petro is around two hundred years old, but he had known who his mate is at the age of twenty. He had never known a hound could mate another hound. That was the first time Mal had hit him. It had happened a few times over the years and he was scared to death of his mate. So when Mal showed up at the compound, his first instinct was to run. Which got him punched in the face. He knew something was wrong but didn’t know what it was.

Mal’s family figured that he was going feral, which meant the only way to save him was for him to take his mate. The thing was when they mated, his focus cleared up long enough to let Petro know what was wrong. He also let them know that it could happen to others. He had a lot of mistakes and wrongs to fix. He had to show his mate that he did indeed love him. It would take time but mates were important to each other. He also knew to protect the one he loved with all he had in him.

I absolutely love this book almost as much as I have loved the other’s in this series. I can’t wait to read the next story. When Flynn puts out a book, I am usually there to eat them up. They do have a bit of a serious tone to them but there is a lot of humor in them that I love. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a book.

I would definitely recommend reading this book. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving, and having fun.

Review: As always Andrew gives you a steamy and very hot little story. I mean the sex between each of these guys and then all together would set the pages on fire it was so hot. This is book three in the series and you need to read them in order. I started reading this series and it just draws you in and keeps you captivated the whole time. I only had problems with certain parts of it.

Although Zane is trying to fix it all, even one of the things he did made me crazy.

A short time ago Adam wanted to make Zane the daddy of the group. He wanted him to take complete control over them all. To help them with their anger, addictions and problems that they were having. It is hard when it is just two men in love, but in this story it starts with four men loving and committed to each other. Then you add in Zane and now you have five men with a relationship going. There are many problems still going on with them.

Adam is still confused and angry at his choices. He takes his anger out in and even hurts those he loves. Jamie comes off as a scared man, but you can sense the strength in him. Although there is a surprise with him, that made me love him the most. Deuce is trying to fix what he knows that he has done wrong, but he is constantly fighting with Adam.

Although it is Adam that is the one starting the fighting. Lemmuel or better known as L.T. is an addict and every time he gets stressed he shoots up, although he is trying to overcome that battle as well. There is so much feeling in this book that you can’t help but wonder how they make it work. However they do and you just stand there praying for the best.

It is a fascinating story and I look forward to reading the next story. I want to see how Jamie has the baby that he is pregnant with. That is one hell of a great add to this amazing book. I would recommend reading it. It has a lot of details and story in such a small book. I loved the way they are with each other even after their little fights.

However with Adam, I think I would have ditched him the first time he raised his fists. He would be the one I could see bringing them all down, but the others love him so much that they see what he needs.

There is a lot of kink in this book and I am talking some majorly hot kink. I love the BDSM parts of this book, and for me that is saying something. I am not usually one that would like that part of a book or life but in this book it just brings it all out. I look forward to reading more by this amazing author.

Review: I think many of us will think of the song Let it Go from the movie Frozen and in a strange way, it all fits together. This is a fairly quick read and for the most part quite pleasing.

The setting is Goa, India. Damon is American but intended to visit his sister and nephew in Paris for Christmas. That was until his boss decided that he had to go to Goa for work, obviously. The other main character is Virat, he is the handsome and cute stranger that Damon bumps into and is immediately taken by the Indian man. The problem is that Virat is actually in Goa for his honeymoon.

Generally, I hate books, which prominently display cheating on partners by MCs. However, this is different and much more subtle. If anything this shows that this is a time of indecision and hopelessness for Virat and Damon just feels like a speck among the many people that surround him, none of them are his loved ones. In addition, the aspect of Virat being unfaithful actually highlights the stark differences between the cultures and acceptance of whether people are gay or straight. My only problem is that

I felt that Damon was often disregarding the local cultural beliefs, which of course were a major influence in Virat’s decisions. (Come on, seems selfish to gate crash a man’s honeymoon even if there is mutual sexual interest). But, I think this once again is a reflection of cultural differences.
I liked the epilogue. It wrapped up things quite nicely and was pretty damn cute!

On a side note, I was reading up on Sid Love and found it interesting when he talks about being LGBT in India.

Review: This is book eighteen in the Brac Village series and they need to be read in order. Each book gives you a new romantic couple to fall in love with, but they are intertwined in the earlier books. To truly figure out who everyone is you need to start with Brac Pack first. It is also mixed in with Demon Warriors, Zeus Pack, Christian’s Coven, and a few others. All of the characters are found in most of those books. I don’t think that there is anything better than a good paranormal romance, unless it is one that involves two gorgeous men who are finding themselves and their mates. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by Lynn.

There is something about the way that Lynn tells a story that will not only draw you in and keep your attention the whole time, but it will more than likely have you laughing your ass off. The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. They will protect their mates with their entire lives. I had a blast reading this story.

Dylan’s father passed away over five years ago. It had left him and his little brother living with their uncle. When his uncle inherited a sweet house in Brac Village, he was extremely overjoyed. It even had a nice big back yard. He meets Paine, when Paine came over to greet them and welcome them to town. His little brother keeps saying that Paine is a big cat, but Omar is known to have a great imagination.

Paine has found his mate, but he wished that he had met him in human form instead of his cheetah form. So he knew he had to go greet them all and was quite surprised when Omar knows right off the bat that he is the nice kitty from the woods. Things get a bit complicated when the home they owned was in fact used to kill others.

Dylan and his family were tricked into coming there by another uncle bent on experimenting on Omar for his special gifts. He will do everything in his powers to keep his mate and new family safe. Now all he has to do is to get Dylan used to the paranormal world he has come to live in.

I absolutely love this book almost as much as I have loved the other’s in this series. I can’t wait to read the next story. When Lynn puts out a book, I am usually there to eat them up. They do have a bit of a serious tone to them but there is a lot of humor in them that I love. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a book. I would definitely recommend reading this book. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying and loving but mainly laughing your ass off.

What is better than a gorgeous man who is mated to a shape shifter, hot sex, a cute kid with a special ability to see what everyone in their true form is, demons, excitement, suspense, lots of action and danger? I would recommend reading it, trust me you will love these men and their families.

Review: This is in its way is a very powerful story. It shows the feelings that many who have had something happen to them go through and others reactions in a way. It actually makes your heart swell and sometimes a tear to fall when you read books that are wrote like this.

Sean is well-known for many of his books, but every once in a while a book comes out that shows you a side that you think are not there. It is also something that does happen or you can see it happening.

Tyler was a fun-loving kind of guy who loved to make bikes and surf. He also loved to sing along with many songs, which is what he was doing when he met a gorgeous singer. Kit was a sexy singer and had a way to him that just drew you to him. He had been involved in an accident that cost him his lover and nine of his friends, it had also cost him his legs.

He had made the choice of never singing again, but helping other singers with their vocation. He did miss singing, but he felt that it was wrong to do something he enjoyed when it had cost him so much. When he meets Tyler, things are going to change for the better. He has gained love and is ready for the changes.

This is a wonderful story that I would definitely recommend to everyone. It is a love story that also talks about the tragedy Kit had went through. Gorgeous men, a bit of excitement, true love and some tender love scenes. I had a blast reading it and can guarantee that you will too.

Review: This was a pretty cute story but a bit bizarre. It was missing something that would make it perfect. It was a good start though. In fact, it was going good till the actual mating part, and in which case it is told to fast. I would have loved it if it had been not only spaced out but more detail put in to it. When most matings happen, there is at least some idea that the other person is actually into men. With this one, that was not the case. It just doesn’t come off as the way it should have.

Kevin and Lisa had been married for some time and were expecting their first child. That is until his best friend informed him, that Lisa had been cheating on him. Come to find out that the child was not his. His heart was hurt, they had been high school sweethearts, and now they were nothing.

He decides to leave it all behind and go to Alaska. He had inherited a cabin in the middle of the boondocks Alaska. A little rough but he could make it ago. That is until the wolves show up. He was given a chance mate or die.

I can see the option but none of it was believable. It was a good story but missing parts and not enough details to give it a really good rating. I would recommend reading it.

It has a good chance at being something excellent, but I would recommend adding to the story. It left me hanging at the end. I gave it a two point five to a three because in fact it has a great start to a good book, but to me was not what I expected. I did have a blast reading it though.

Starting over sucks. At forty, Miles Koprowski thought he had life all figured out. He had a nice car, a hot young lover, and a cushy job… and then he didn’t. Call it fate, or karma, or a downturn in the market, but this opinionated cynic is now forced to play rent-a-cop in a dying office building in the burbs just to make ends meet. Throw in an unhinged ex, a coworker who hates him, and a hot new boss, and suddenly everything is uncertain.

Review: Dean lost his brother in the Middle East to an IED. As a way to honor his memory, he becomes pen pals with Ryder who is still serving in the Middle East. As each letter is written and read, they are drawn closer together. After nearly a year, they have fallen in love with each other. However right before Ryder is set to be sent home, he risks his life to save one of his man. Due to this, Ryder loses his leg.

Thinking to spare Dean, Ryder tries to cancel their meeting. But Dean is not about to give up his man.

There are really so many things to love about this book. I am a sucker for soldiers, and the wounded ones always pull my heartstrings. Ryder was no different. Without Dean, he would have fallen deep into depression and PTSD. But Dean won’t let him go that route without a fight. And I love Dean for that. He faced each of Ryder’s insecurities head on. He proved to Ryder that just because he lost a leg he was not less of a man, and he could still do everything he did before, maybe just a little differently.

There was also a very strong supporting cast. Both Mama Beth and Jessie were awesome women that anyone would be lucky to have in their lives. Also Dean’s dog, so cute. The “villain” was an ass, and I was glad when he got his ass kicked.

Two men who have been hurt and lost find each other. They learn to overcome and growing stronger together. Perhaps it was a little sappy in parts, but I don’t care. The writing is top-notch and moves quickly. The MCs are well flushed out and easily connectable to. The sex scenes are more sensual than explicit in my opinion, although pretty descriptive.

All in all, I loved this book. I think this story was awesome and well worth a read.

Review: After losing the most important thing in his life, Dalton is just going through life. His captain sees the signs and offers to listen if he needs to talk.

This is a beautifully written story where author D.D. Symms captures the sights and sounds of the surroundings as if you are there. I could see the sweat dripping from Dalton as he ran. Later I could feel his pain. His need. His desire. I sure would like more of this one!

If you like a good short story with military men, bittersweet love, sizzling desire and a satisfying ending (pun intended) you will love this.

Blurb: David and Isaac have found happiness in each other’s arms. In faraway San Francisco, Isaac’s brother Aaron helps them explore confusing “English” life and move beyond the looming shadow of their Amish roots. For the first time, David and Isaac can be openly gay, yet they struggle to reconcile their sexuality with their faith. At least they don’t have to hide their relationship, which should make everything easier. Right?

But while Isaac thrives at school and makes new friends, David wrestles to come to terms with the reality of the outside world. Haunted by guilt at leaving his mother and sisters behind in Zebulon, he’s overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the city as he works to get his carpentry business off the ground.

While David and Isaac finally sleep side by side each night, fear and insecurity could drive them miles apart.

This is the second chapter in a trilogy of forbidden Amish love. This book features explicit sex and is not an inspirational/Christian novel.

Review: This is book 2 of the Gay Amish Romance series and if you haven’t read book 1, go back now and you will be greatly rewarded as you the saga so far between David and Isaac. Like my review for the first book, I’m going to keep this review as brief as possible so as not to give too much away. The wonder, explosive and sweet chemistry between David and Isaac is still there as we get a dose of reality for these two guys! If anything, I loved this one more than the first, too!

Like the first book, you may be tricked into thinking it is full of Amish and religious angst – it is far from that! Thankfully, so because I really can only handle a little bit of angst before I lose interest.

Both David and Isaac have left their strict Amish community to live with Isaac’s older brother (who was excommunicated and thoroughly atheist) and his wife in San Francisco. It’s not your typical fish out of water tale, so to speak. Rather we get two very different reactions to what boils down to living in a new world and experiencing an almost constant culture shock. Isaac seems to be thriving, David not so much.

David was very good at hiding his problems. Or perhaps the people around him didn’t take enough notice of him. Or maybe it was David who ignored everyone.

Regardless, the way in which these character’s coping mechanisms were portrayed was fantastic. I felt that this book had a stronger supporting cast of characters than the first book, all of them with their own little interesting point of view on things. The range of emotions in this book is both tiring and intense, which of course makes this an enjoyable read.

Again, compared to the first book, I felt the emotions were much stronger. We get to feel a lot of love with some happiness and hope, then guilt and despair, panic and disorder.

We are left with a cliffhanger (this is a trilogy, so one more book!) and I’m not sure how I feel about that.

Review: I really liked this book…a lot. It has the potential to lead to a phenomenal love story. I hope the author isn’t done! 

Wade is just a great man. Even though he’s scored a big contract with an NFL team as the starting quarterback, he’s pretty humble and down to earth. He truly cares about his fellow man and is optimistic about the goodness in people. And while he does want to pave the way for removing prejudice from a ridiculously homophobic sport, he wants to establish himself so he stands a chance of making it in the league as a gay player before he comes out. And he is hoping that Heath is willing to take a chance with him.

Heath on the other hand has seen what bullying can do to someone and has become a bit pessimistic and cynical. He automatically sees the worst in people instead of giving them a fair chance. However, what he sees in Wade – how good a man he is – gives him hope and makes him want more. He’s not sure if he has a chance with Wade at all.

They are absolutely adorable together and cannot hide their attraction!

There is a bit of a ‘soap boxy’ message in the book about the double standards in professional sports although it’s pretty spot on in my opinion.

The writing was good and the character development was good. I’d love to ‘meet’ Wade’s granny in a future story (hint, hint). I would definitely check out more from this author.
