Blurb: Cole never thought he’d find himself in those he was running from… Until he met Nexhan, clan leader of a legendary shifter race.

After a century of vengeance, Nexhan, clan leader of the Rune Fang, returns home to find his people teetering on the edge of extinction. Still plagued by his past and his sense of failure, he has closed himself off from even his closest friend. He is desperate to return to the shifter way of life, but doesn’t know how to cope with the death of his family and his lover.

Cole is the typical outcast—clumsy, quiet, and angry. After years of disappointing his parents with his inability to master his cougar’s predatory skills, he runs from the pressure to mate a female who he’s unable to love, but he never expected to end up living among the saber-toothed cats. Heck, he didn’t even know they still existed. Embarrassed by his lack of skills, he retreats into himself, quietly nursing his pain.

A chance meeting in the forest leads Cole to accept Nexhan’s help and companionship, but he never imagined he’d trust the male with his deepest secrets. Nexhan vows it’s just sex, but the cougar intrigues him like nothing and no one before. Can he move on and finally lay to rest his troubled past?

Reader Advisory: This book is best read in sequence as part of a series.

Review: Cole, a Cougar Shifter, ran from his family when they wanted him to marry a female and he ends up with the Rune Fang clan. Cole knows he’s different but doesn’t understand how the magic so to speak inside him. He knows he’s a klutz and clumsy. He wants to tell his family he prefers men but is scared of their reaction. He meets the sexy clan leader one day while practicing how to pounce on his prey.

Nexhan, clan leader of the Rune Fang, returns after being gone for hundreds of years out of guilt and sorrow for what happened in the past. He comes upon a cute cougar shifter trying to pounce on his prey. Sparks fly immediately but the cougar shies away from the magnificent beast. But can Nexhan let go of the past in order to begin living in the now and future.

There were so many fascinating descriptions of meanings to the history of the clan that is told throughout the story as well as the beautiful descriptions of the forest where the clan lives. It seemed, as I was there watching things play out as it happened. There was a lot of drama throughout as well as danger when Kaga appear to attack members of the clan. Nexhan and Cole needed each other more than they knew. One to help let go off the past and love again the other to see that he is more than what he’s always thought.

Well written with hot sex scenes between Nexhan and Cole throughout the story. I am looking forward to the next book to see what happens next. Good read.

Blurb: Jarvis Clark was stunned when he was verbally abused in the elevator at work and lewdly propositioned. Jarvis is young and handsome – the PA to the boss – a man with influence and power. His accoster might be butch and ruggedly good-looking, but he is part of the rank and file – how dare he make such a move!

Jarvis is left shocked, yet over the following weeks he continues to take the elevator late after work, knowing the man is likely to be there, and knowing the foul abuse he is going to receive. His life changes as questions are raised. Put there in his mind by a verbal abuser – a nemesis come to life.

Inevitably, the elevator takes this handsome young sophisticated man from the glamour of the top floor, all the way to the basement where the sex is rough and dirty – where he is used and abused by an uncouth lout he comes to crave.

Why did he allow it? Only Mr. Clark can tell you that for sure. Perhaps the man saw in Jarvis something he didn’t know was there himself, and having lit the fuse, he had to explode. Whatever – this is his story of how he was used and abused and knew the perverted joys of humiliation and debasement!

Review: Having read the blurb of this book you’ve read everything there is to know about the setting and/or plot. Nothing more to add, no spoilers to give, it’s all out there in the open.

Jarvis is a snub character who is all-posh and has a stick up his arse, behaving as if he’s the one and only and all others are dust onto his feet, who gets what he truly “deserves” from this coarse and crude co-worker. Nothing more to add there.

The story is pure crass, crude, unfettered, debasingly kinky, with the most limit-pushing fetishes that exist out there such as watersports, self-felching, and debasing/humiliation. Everything that makes you say “no freaking way” you got it here. Yet it’s one of the most hilarious stories in a rough and unsophisticated kind of way I’ve read lately, sporting a weird mix of wild and definitely hardcore sex scenes.

I’ve only rated it a 2 because it was okay,in comparison with other erotica out there. It was nicely written, in a language that entices, in a PoV that makes you want to at least smile, and truth be told I’d read the sequel.

After all, I have the stomach for these kinks and fetishes 😉

Finding a job at a deli up the street, Harlie meets Milan, a gorgeous but cranky baker. Unaware that Milan is suffering the effects of a broken heart just as Harlie is, the two men circle around each other, manning the barricades, both unwilling to open themselves up to love yet again.

Whether you want it to or not.

But tragedy also drops in now and then.

Review: Work in Progress is the second book in the Belladonna Arms series but can be read as a standalone. I read this without reading Serenading Stanley and I enjoyed it immensely and more importantly, I didn’t feel like I was missing any vital information.

This is the story of Harlie Rose and Milan Burger. Harlie Rose has been trying to get over his recent break up from his boyfriend by traveling through 32 states in hopes of finding the place where he belongs and begin the process of mending his broken heart. He arrives at Belladonna Arms, where love pollen is told to rain down on you like pixie dust on Peter Pan, and the rest is history. Milan is a baker at the deli where Harlie becomes employed. Milan is also recovering from a broken heart and together they find out that opening themselves to love again is totally worth it.

The owner of Belladonna Arms is none other than darling Arthur, a 300 lbs drag queen whom I love to death. He was real and unapologetic for whom he/she was. Arthur was never ashamed or uncomfortable with being his true self and I admire him for that “I know how I look, young man. I know I’m ridiculous. But hell, why should I try to be someone I’m not?”

Arthur and Harlie become friends and I absolutely laughed my butt off at Harlie’s description and opinion of him. Harlie’s voice is simply hilarious and I enjoyed him a lot. But I did want to smack him upside the head when he tried so hard to change Arthur, to turn him more butch *snort*. I did like the lesson learned from all that, accept your friends as they are and don’t try to change them to benefit your personal preferences.

Harlie eventually realized that being someone you’re not meant to be, brings only unhappiness. I feel like Arthur was such a big character (no pun intended) he took away the focus from Harlie and Milan. When I think about this book, the first character that pops in my head is definitely Arthur.

Ohh. And let’s not skip another unforgettable character in this book, the cat with more identities than an undercover agent. Ralph/Studley/Gizmo is the apartment complex’s cat who doesn’t belong to anyone but goes to everyone for dinner. His favorite things to do are lay around and do nothing but lick his ass…and eat. This cat looooves to eat. It’s been a long time since I’ve read a book where a cat (or any other pet, really) had so much personality.

This is a 2-for-1 deal as we get two HEA in this story, and again, I think Milan and Harlie’s love story pales in comparison to Arthur and Tom’s (aka Mr. Burger and Milan’s father). Not that I didn’t like Milan, because he’s such a hottie, but he wasn’t exactly what I pictured. He came across as dark, broody, and sexy as hell at the beginning, and he’s kept the sexy part, but there’s nothing broody about him; he’s just a big teddy bear.

And Harlie is cute I guess and he is funny but there’s nothing special about him. Arthur on the other hand is such a character, complex, funny, and outrageous. He’s someone you won’t forget for a long time. And Tom is pretty great as well, first for being such a great match for Arthur, and second for being such a firecracker. And their sexual antics had me in tears of laughter.

I liked pretty much all the characters in this book, with the exception of ChiChi, but the author took care of him, the poor bastard. They’re all friends and get together well and I absolutely love how accepting they are of one another. One thing I could have done without was… the cheesy love talk between Harlie and Milan. Good lord, I feel like sucking on a lemon to get rid of all that sweetness. I really wish they confessed their love in a sarcastic way; it would have been more in tone with the rest of the story.

I recommend this to anyone who loves to get a good laugh because this book is guaranteed to tickle your funny bone from the beginning to the end. I can’t wait for the next in this series.

Blurb: Doug travels from Arbor Heights to stay with his grandmother Noel during one of the largest hurricanes North Carolina has seen. What starts as a support trip becomes more intense when her neighbor’s house is damaged during the storm, forcing Neal to bunker down with Doug and his grandmother. Review: This is the sixth story of the Storming Love: One Storm, Twelve Men collection.

In this book, we have Doug, who is living in California with his boyfriend of three years. He is coming to North Carolina to help his grandmother get ready for the big hurricane that has really wreaked havoc on the coast. He meets her neighbor Neil who is a nurse.

Doug and his grandmother are lucky and get through the storm without any real damage. He neighbor Neil isn’t so lucky when a tree hits his house. Doug and Neil spend a lot of time together during the storm, trying to save Neil’s house and riding the storm out at his Grandmothers. After it’s over Doug is eager to get back home to his boyfriend Ryan to find their relationship didn’t quite survive the storm.

This was a very good short story. There was a lot of action and though Neil made his intentions clear, he never pushed himself on Doug. They formed a very good friendship and I liked the pacing of the story until the very end then it all of a sudden felt rushed into an epilogue. I would have loved to see another chapter or two of Neil and Doug deciding what to do with their relationship.

If you like, friends to lovers, a slow building relationship forged through tragedy, storms, sweet grandmas and some hot man-sex this is for you!

Zeke loses everything—his house, his business, his savings, but escapes with his sisters, nieces and nephew thanks to Remy coming to the rescue with a little vampire help. Ashlock is hot enough to make Zeke dream of claiming the vampire as his own. Fate isn’t supposed to be wrong and his wolf is certain that the vampire is his mate. However, Zeke’s fears run deep and for good reason.

How can he claim Ashlock, when the thought of letting the vampire bite him leaves him cold with dread?

Review: I have read many romance stories many male and female as well as male and male romances. Most of them have what I would call a believable outlook on them, but there are some that you just know is not possible. Even though they are paranormal and everyone knows that vampires and werewolves do not exist, although many of us wish that they did, some of the fantastic stories you just want to find a way into it.

This story is the third to this series and you need to read book one first. It gives you an idea on how they end up where they are at and why the war is coming. Their world is amazing and I for one would love to sink myself into it and forget the life I lead now. The way they are so protective of each other is how all mates should be.

In a world where parents are hurting their children whether for their sexuality or some other evil, where husband or wife is hurting the other or killing them and so on, it is nice to read a book where they are protecting those who need it. I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait to get the next one read.

Zeke knew something was up the way his pack was acting towards him. He found out through one of the others that there was something bad that was to happen and he needed to run. He needed to get his sisters and their children to safety. After a bad run with a vampire he wasn’t too fond of them, in fact he couldn’t stand them. Although his little brother was mated to one, he wasn’t too trusting.

However, he knew that they would protect him and his family. His brother was a powerful alpha, talk about surprises, and his pack would protect those who came in. Then he came across, once again, a vampire that had his insides fluttering like a girl. He lost everything, his money, job, and house. However, he has in fact gained also. He has gained a very sexy vampire as a mate. Now all he had to do is to get his head out of his ass.

Ashlock knew that he wanted this man, now even more since he was his mate. The problem was his mate didn’t want a vampire and could not even think about the feedings. Someone hurt his mate and now he was out for blood. He would protect his mate from those who intended harm to him. That included Zeke’s old pack. The sexual heat was there so hot and tempting, but he just had to keep his senses when it came to his mate. He could however tease him a bit to make him want more. Talk about a hot potato sitting in his lap.

I had a blast reading this and cannot wait for the next story to come out. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It was told with a flair that captured me and drew me into their world.

I loved it and would recommend reading this story. It gave me everything I could possibly want in it. It gave me a world to get lost in, two sexy men, werewolves, vampires, feisty pups, excitement, surprises, action, and lots of danger. I loved this book.

Blurb: Murray and Apollo have silently loved each other since the day they met. When they go to the lands below to find the stolen scrolls needed to release Zeus from prison, Apollo and Murray discover they are mates. Murray is blissfully happy until he is kidnapped.

Taken to an old mining cave, Murray is scared. He knows that Apollo is doing everything he can to find him. However, Murray also knows that Hera and Aries will be there soon to take him and the scrolls away. Not wanting Apollo hurt, Murray tries to escape, only to find he is not alone in the cave.

Traipsing through the Mountains of New Mexico, looking for his mate, is not what he had envisioned on his Honeymoon phase. Finding out who took his mate not only angers him but also hurts because trust is not something he gives freely. However, Apollo will find his mate before it is too late or die trying.

Purchase Link:

Review: Murray has been in Atlantis with Poseidon since he was young. He has never left Atlantis and has only reading knowledge of the world we live in. When the scrolls are taken, he has no choice but to go into the world to find them. Going with him his Apollo, the man Murray has been in love with for a long time. But Murray never thought Apollo even noticed him. Boy was he wrong.

Apollo wanted Murray since the first time he saw him. But because Murray needed to stay in Atlantis with the scrolls and Apollo needs the sun, Apollo never approached Murray afraid they could never work it out. When the scrolls are stolen, Apollo will not let Murray go without him. With no one around them, the sparks fly and they finally realize they have always been soul mates. The first chance Apollo gets he claims Murray. However, the plans Hera and Aries have put into motion nearly railroad their mating.

I loved Murray he was just the sweetest and with this cute naivety about things, but brave when he needed to be. Apollo and Murray are opposites, but still perfect together. Apollo is far from innocent but is patient and loving to his mate. The sex scenes were totally hot between them. But Murray is not a complete pushover and he can give as good as he gets to Apollo when he needs too. As Murray learns about things in the world, some of it was really hilarious. Like when he was eating food at a 4th of July celebration. Apollo had to give him a tummy rub afterwards. SO cute 🙂

But seriously I cannot wait until Hera and Aries get their rightful punishments. They are totally evil and have been planning this for a long time. The cruel backstabs they have done on the other is insane. With each book more and more is revealed about what the two evil ones have done and have planned. I love that the other gods are getting mates and at the same time kicking Hera and Aries collective asses.

Blurb: Sean Vargos is quiet, well-respected, and dedicated to his job. But Dave Simpson sees Sean as more than a co-worker. He’s fought his attraction to Sean for months but can’t get him out of his thoughts.

They tentatively embark on a relationship, but Sean isn’t all that he seems. He struggles to put his past behind him and overcome his fears.

Dave, with his good looks and open nature, accepts that sometimes Sean’s doubts get the better of him and he runs. Dave just wants the chance to show Sean he can be trusted and the past doesn’t have to dictate their future.

Purchase Link:

Review: Sean is a loner, quiet and almost shy. It’s the past haunting him that makes Sean withdraw and keep to himself, but Dave wants to change that. Dave has watched Sean from afar at work, biding his time until the time is right to make his move. Dave realizes he has to tread lightly with Sean, but once the door is opened and Sean tries to close it out of fear, Dave nudges his foot in the opening, and refuses to be shut out.

This was a short, sweet story about the tenacity of one man to prove he is worth the risk, while the person he is trying to prove his worth to continues to push him away. Sean has been hurt and he guards his heart well, too well in fact, for fear of being hurt again. Dave is patient and attentive with Sean and his worries but he is also determined to show Sean that he can let his guard down and be loved.

While I completely understood Sean’s hesitancy and why he worried he’d be hurt if he trusted a man again, the issue in the past didn’t warrant his reflexes in the present. I hope that makes sense, I don’t want to give spoilers. But overall, I really enjoyed this story. I blew through it during my lunch hour and the content held my attention throughout.

Sean and Dave are pretty sexy, once Sean lets his guard down and lets Dave in, pun intended!

Blurb: John Dearborn, newly dumped, meets a handsome stranger named Vic. Vic is a little weird, but he’s a catch–sexy, sweet, and an animal in bed. If John didn’t know better, he’d think Vic was too good to be true. And in fact, Vic has a secret: despite his impressive good looks, he’s normally gray-skinned, hairy, and four feet tall, just like every other fairy in the woods. But to catch John’s attention, Vic is masquerading as a human–temporarily. When the spell breaks, Vic turns into a fairy again, John freaks out, and their relationship shatters.

Vic can’t go back to sleeping in a dead tree and eating bugs; he needs his human body, and he needs John. He has one last chance to pick up the pieces and become a human man again. But now there’s a catch: Vic will only remain human if he can wring a commitment out of a hurt and wary John, and the spell will keep him from confessing his feelings.

Instead, Vic has to show John why they’re so good together, and he can think of only one way…

Purchase Link:

Review: To say John Dearborn is unlucky in love would be an understatement. His boyfriend dumped him not long ago, only to be followed up by a seriously disastrous date. When he meets Vic, he’s attracted, but wary. Vic is gorgeous, sexy and confident, and John cannot fathom what the man would want with a guy like him.

Vic, in actuality, is a 4-foot tall, grey-skinned fairy that fell in love with John at first sight. He barters a deal with a dragon to become human and have just one night with John. While Vic’s appearance may be deceiving, his soul is not. He opens up to John and the two truly get to know each other, but will the soul deep connection be strong enough for John to choose Vic after he learns the truth about who Vic really is?

This was just a short, sexy, fast, fun read! The bones of the story rooted in magic, the legends of the Fae and the conditions that circled around that were intriguing. And then the chemistry shared between John and Vic was pretty steamy, and then watching as John realized he loved Vic regardless of who or what he was, happy sigh.

There was just a little hiccup for me with the character Merrick, he was sort of power-hungry, but then did a complete 180 and it confused me a little. But overall, I enjoyed this short story very much. A must read for anyone that likes paranormal, fantasy or fairy stories.

BLURB: Vance might be the owner of a circus, but he doesn’t get out much. When his brother calls him to a show in Miami to preview a new act, Vance is more annoyed than impressed. Mari and her partner Sasha are more than just trapeze artists, though, and Vance is soon smitten with both of them.

Can Vance keep Sasha and his beautiful partner safe long enough to let them teach him how to fly once more?

Single Title –

Box Set –

REVIEW: Vance is basically the office man or the Cirque Caprice, which he owns with Victor (from book 1, Tarot). An accident, despite his kinetic powers to help him, led to an injury that made him retreat from “field work”. Victor wants Vance to see the new trapeze act. Essentially, if they are accepted into the Cirque, then they need visa, etc.

Marilena (Mari) and Sasha are work and romantic partners, trying to get away from a bad situation. Vance is bisexual and immediately attracted to the couple.

This is a difficult story to review. I liked it, but didn’t love it. I think because in my mind it should be a longer story with more detail. On reflection, I have to say that it was the vagueness in the story that was my major problem. Perhaps removing the dodgy history from Sasha and Mari’s storyline would have simplified things?

I’m not sure. Perhaps 30-odd pages aren’t enough time to establish a ménage relationship? I had similar problems with the previous book in this box set (see my review for book two, Tumbling). I had particular trouble seeing any spark between Sasha and Vance.

Luckily, they are all stand-alone books, so more complications aren’t added from previous story lines.

Review: What a twisty-turny plot! From the beginning, I knew there was going to be plenty of weirdness, all the characters seemed shady, even the kids, and oh, boy my instincts about them being involved were spot on. Being set in such a dark time for America, the environment, from the cold snowy weather to the deteriorating resort, mirrored the mood and minds of the characters.

From the beginning when Aiden was shot at, I couldn’t guess what really happened and why. This for me is the number one qualifier to a great mystery: I can’t guess the plot, I can’t immediately draw a conclusion to whodunit and why…and Brennessel kept me guessing to the end.

There were a lot of characters to keep track of on and off the page, and at times, this confused me, especially in trying to keep track of what had happened to Aiden’s brother. Add in the fact that it’s wartime and there is a resistance, spies, and commie hunters, and there is almost too much in the mix. I had to read and often reread sections carefully to pick up the hints and clues.

The other odd thing was trying to decide where Sebastian’s loyalties lay, for a while I thought he was just playing with Aiden’s mind and body a bit. The sexual attraction was slow and cautious, a smoldering buildup not explicit but hot and dangerous nonetheless. I also thought Sebastian had another secret lover for a time and the mysteries just kept stacking up!

The setting of the decaying mysterious Cebren Spa was perfect! From the danger of its structural problems, to its history and purpose, and of course Sebastian’s fear of it, I just knew it was always going to be critical to the story, a central character if you will.

Wellspring is an engrossing, twisting, surprising mystery that will leave you guessing until the end.

Review: I’m afraid this was a very short Short Story, the kind that doesn’t manage to make a whole story by the end of the white pages.

The story itself contains too many typos and grammar errors to the point where the grammar-Nazi in me was wailing in fury. The plot was not good either and it didn’t help at all, no matter how much you wanted to like this book. I don’t ask much; a nicely constructed story with a solid plot and a strong backbone, however they were sorely lacking.

The plot was all over the place, things started happening out of nowhere, the reasoning was weak and mostly seemed like a prop for the main event, questions were born with every line and every explanation left you more confused than not.

In the end I didn’t like how “easy” everything was and damn it I’m still wondering what on earth is that damned “scion”.
Ask me if I’d read book two…

If it was free, yes, I would read the second book, if only to get an idea on what the heck is going on. Because frankly, if this story was better polished/written I think I’d have liked it more.
