Review: Miles Weller is a recent college graduate that is about to move into his first apartment and start a new job. Just a few short years ago, he wasn’t sure he would ever accomplish this goal. When he came out to his parents, his father told him he was no longer welcome in their home, while his mother sat by silently and watched her still teenage son leave with possibly nowhere to go. Thankfully, Mile’s Uncle Steven took him in, supported him and helped him get through college.
The one thing Miles wants in his life is love. A summer fling with one of the guests at The Acres will have to do for now though, or at least that is what Miles thinks. That is until his high school crush, Elliot Donovan, walks back into his life. They take it slow and get to know each other again during late night walks, talks and heavy make out sessions. When Elliot can’t make it out to The Acres one weekend, Miles heads to his house to surprise him. What he finds stops him cold and threatens their newly formed relationship.
I read another book in this series a while back, Summer of Love, and I wasn’t impressed. I almost didn’t pick this one up for review, but I have to say, I’m so happy that I did. While the characters in Love didn’t seem to fit, in my opinion, Miles and Elliot fit like a glove. My biggest complaint with Love was the lack of communication between the ML, in this story there isn’t a lack of communication it’s the fact that Miles takes a notion and runs with it, without having all the facts.
There was a definite chemistry between Miles and Elliot that was evident and well conveyed. I loved the romance of this story and I recommend it for sure.
