Interview with E.T. Malinowski
Pixie: Hello to E.T. Malinowski who is joining us today for the Dreamspinner Press Daily Dose with their release Unexpected, hey E.T.
E.T: Hi, it’s good to be here.
Pixie: E.T. your contribution to the Daily Dose is Unexpected why don’t you tell our readers a little about it.
E.T: Well, Unexpected is about two men, sort of, from opposite cultures. They have to get past preconceived notions to be together.
Pixie: Did you have the idea for Unexpected before you heard of the Mended submission call or did it form after?
E.T: I must have started twenty stories before this idea came to me. I ended up stepping away from it for a few days before trying again. I was reading my fan fiction works in progress when it hit me.
Pixie: Did you enjoy writing a hurt/comfort story or did you find it hard to write?
E.T: I did enjoy writing it, not so much for the hurt/comfort aspect, but for Tarel’s snarky attitude. I also wanted a way to do hurt/comfort without having one of the characters incapacitated. It wasn’t easy.
Pixie: Now how about giving the readers a little teaser, just a couple of lines?
He rounded the corner through the open arch formed by a large root and stopped dead in his tracks. There, standing before a table coming directly from the wall, was his worst enemy.
Pixie: Do you think you will revisit Marin & Tarel or the fantasy world they live in in the future? What do you have in store for us next?
E.T: I’m not sure if we’ll be seeing Marin and Tarel again. It’s possible. Right now, I’m prepping a vampire piece for submission. Hopefully, Dreamspinner will like it.
Pixie: Now why don’t you let the readers know where to find you?
E.T: I can be reached at ETMalinowski@gmail.com. I enjoy hearing from readers.
Pixie: Before we go is there anything you’d like to tell the readers and fans?
E.T: Just a heartfelt thank you.
Pixie: E.T. thank you so much for joining us today and I look forward to your future stories.
E.T: Thanks for having me, Pixie. I look forward to writing them and hearing feedback
E.T. Malinowski is the youngest of seven girls. It was her love of reading that eventually led her to attempt writing. From there, a passion was born. She began writing romance in her early teens and, at that time, never dreamed of sharing her work with anyone. With the help of several dear friends, not to mention her ex-husband, she found the courage to take that last step towards publication.
As the single mother of three rambunctious boys, finding time to write is a bit difficult. Yet E.T. manages to do it, even if it’s on break or lunch at a regular day job. She has found her place in homoerotic romance. To her, love doesn’t recognize gender boundaries and is always special.
An avid reader, E.T. finds inspiration in all her favorite genres, from mainstream romance by her favorite authors to Japanese manga and anime. To her, even the classic fairytales hold that spark of motivation and if there is one thing she has learned from her many years of writing solely for herself, it’s this: never deny the Muse, she gets cranky and pulls out the bullwhip.

Blurb: Unseelie are vicious, heartless, and cruel, or so Merin believes. Then Tarel, an Unseelie warrior, comes to his rescue, and turns his view of the world upside down.
To escape the effects of his curse, Tarel exiled himself to the forest. He has enough issues with his own people, but he never thought he’d share his bed with a Seelie either, even if only by medical necessity. If Merin and Tarel can overcome their prejudices, they might see what a gift fate has given them.

Review: Merin is running from goblin’s when he stumbles, wounded and tired he thinks he is gonna die but he is rescued just before he passes out. Tarel rescues the Seelie that comes into his territory and is now tied to the elf by a curse; until the Seelie is healed Tarel is stuck with him. Waking up and discovering that an UnSeelie is his rescuer Merin wonders what he wants, but soon learns that not all UnSeelie are as vicious as he believed.
This is a nice little fantasy snippet where Seelie and UnSeelie overcome their differences and find mutual passion and love. Tarel has made a home from himself in the forest after he was cursed, when a Seelie turns up injured and in need Tarel can’t do anything else except help. Merin is puzzled as to why the UnSeelie didn’t just leave him to die and is at first suspicious but he soon changes his opinion and acts on the attraction he feels.
This is a very short snippet where two elves meet and become bonded in a very short space of time, it’s a great little story and we get a good idea of the type of world they live in. There wasn’t much time for development but we get very quickly that Tarel and Merin are attracted to each other even though they are from two different courts. They are very passionate and sexy together and I would love to see this story expanded so we can get more details and enjoy the story in full, from Tarel’s curse to why Merin was in the woods by himself.
I recommend this if you love fantasy with the Seelie and UnSeelie, curses being broken by love and a happy ending.
