Review: This is book five in this series and even though you should read them in order, they can be read alone. This is a really good story that brings things into the open. It shows that when one breaks up instead of just going out and start another relationship right off the bat, they should just date themselves to see what they truly want. It is a bit strange but I did like it.
Hawk wanted his boyfriend to move in with him, but it had backfired. Wanting to apologize for pushing Hawk orders a basket of gifts to give him, but it was sent to him instead. So he decided to take the basket over to Jarred and try to tell him they could go at his pace. However, what he had not expected was to find Jarred in the shower and a lover opening the door. He had been cheated on. He knew then that he would never date again or at least wait to heal from a broken heart.
So he had a weekend to mope around, read a hot erotic book that was in the basket, and think about what he wanted. He did like the barista he saw at the coffee shop he went to but the man who delivered the basket was sexy. So when Joe brings him another gift, he decides to take that as another sign. His best friend Danny kept hitting on Joe and making them laugh. Friends first then maybe the next step.
Joe knew that he would let Hawk set the time but he wanted this man for the rest of his life. He would help this sexy man heal then he would show him how love should be. However, in his life he always stays on track even when he knows that he should stop but he is glad when he kept on going with Hawk.
It is a strange little story but it caught my attention from the moment I opened the book and kept it all the way to the end. Pia has a great gift at telling a story and I am glad to have had the chance to read it. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next story.
